Picked up a growler at NEBC the other day, and recommend whoever is reading this do the same. This beer is scary good.
Pours a hazy orange bronze color. Very active foam cascades up on the pour. White creamy foam. Lacing everywhere, up and down the glass.
Smell jumps out of the glass and smacks you in the face - grass, pine, grapefruit, floral, citrus - you name it, its in there. Wonderful.
Taste opens harmless enough, a lightly sweet malt that ends as the hops begin. A piney hop enveloped in grapefruit that bombards through the palate while somehow never becoming overbearing. This is how a hop-bomb should taste - powerful, potent, yet strangely held in the check by the beer itself.
Well balanced carbonation in the mouth. Everything about the beer is perfectly balanced.
For an 8.8% DIPA, this is one hell of a drinkable beer. Outstanding.
Serving type: growler
