Sometimes you never know when a gift is tossed your way! We have been trying to bring in Gandhi-Bot for almost two years now without any luck.
We were able to get 1 case, so that was super.
I had the opportunity to taste it tonight. (Thank yo Spencer). The pour was a bit on the lighter side, I was expected more orange. But it poured cloudy, not like a wheat beer, but like a beer that had been shaken.
The nose and bouquet were perfect. The tar, the grapefruit, resin, citrus all were so present. With the fist sip, I the extreme hops came through loud and clear. But, what I noticed that it didnt have that dry bitterness from a high IBU beer, but instead had a touch of a sweet overtone at the end.
I am glad I had it, but I still know what my number one beer is.

Thanks to Zach for this awesome beer...trying the famous Gandhi-Bot.
Poured from 12oz can into fluted snifter; translucent warm yellow-orange with a huge fluffy off-white yellowish head that fades very very slowly, leaving chunky fine lacing as it does.
Smells awesome; tangerine, mango, passionfruit at first, then some earthy and piney bitterness comes through.
Taste is just as awesome; sweetness, tropical fruit all blending together, discernible mango and tangerine, moving into pine and earthy bitterness all in balance.
Mouthfeel is smooth, well-carbonated and the finish cleans it off well. Medium body.
Overall, I can see why this is a very sought-after IPA, but it doesn't live up to the hype as well as others do. Still a solid beer that I wish I could find more than once every few months.
Thanks again Zach!

Ghandi-Bot. I loved that movie.
Pours a resplendent reddish-orange with a pillowy white head.
Spot-on aroma-wise with piquant pungent hops followed by orange zest and grapefruit. There's something to be said for sublime simplicity.
Taste is pointed and bold yet balanced, with an engine of earthy hops powered by citrus juice, lemon zest, orange peel and various spices.
Medium and crisp up front with the juiciness softening things as an afterthought. A hint of alcohol peeks through sporadically.
Finely tuned brew here. And since it's Oscar time I think I'll re-watch Ghandi-Bot, and perhaps Chariots of Firestone Walker too!
-- Big thanks to PrimeBeer for this splendid brew!
