Served from a 12oz can into a Lost Abbey Teku.

Appearance- Golden/orange with one finger of bubbly white head with some good lacing.

Smells- Apple juice, candy sugar, belgian yeasts, light pepper. Crisp smelling. Somewhat fruity with Belgian funk.

Taste- Light apples and green grapes with that distinctive Belgian yeast, but then you get this smack in the back of the mouth with lightly bitter German hops. Nice crisp aftertaste.

Mouthfeel- Very moderate carbonation with medium resinous viscosity. I either want it to be more carbonated or more viscous.

Overall- This beer is all over the place. If it were -3abv, it would be the perfect summer beer, but since it's 9%, it's more of a sipper that takes you by surprise.

Canned: unk

Pours a toasted almond meat hazed ale with a ring of soapy whites with some etched surface. Smells like apricot, white grapes, cracker, some nice sweet citrusy juice. Real awesome nose. Flavor follows through with a good fruity character, some more apricot, pineapple, apple juice, some grain, some nice refined and mature belgian yeast with a clay character. Medium on full bodied with moderately hi carb and a nice wet finish. Fucking A. Real delicious, if I could score this in the PNW, I'd slam it while camping for sure.

12oz can poured into a HF sherry glass. Enjoyed during a 90+ heat wave, served at refrigerator temperature.

A- Pours a translucent golden that's a little bit on the darker side, nice consistent carbonation with a decent amount of carbonation bubbles rising to the top of the glass. After pouring about a finger and half of white foamy head appears on the top of the glass that has decent retention and slowly fades to a thin layer coating the glass in thin lacing.

S- Aromas of estery candied fruits that include lemons, oranges, bananas, balanced pilsner malts, decent aroma strength. The aroma is fairly pleasant and decently balanced but the fruitiness is a bit too much on the candied/estery side for me.

T- Again with the candied/estery fruits of oranges, lemons, bananas finishes with a nice crisp pilsner malt finish balanced with subtle hops that linger with the candied fruits on the palate. Interesting tastes the blend nicely together, but again a little bit too much of the candied fruit presence going on.

M- Crisp, medium bodied, a tad bit syrupy, but overall fairly easy drinking.

O- This was a decent strong Belgian style ale, however there are plenty of others that I would prefer drinking this to. It was a nice crisp, refreshing beer to drink on a hot summer July day but it definitely wasn't anything that blew my mind away. If you like the style I'd definitely recommend trying it, but it isn't something that I would necessarily seek out.

Poured from a can - golden color with a nice head. Very good lacing down the glass. Went down rather easily for a Belgian strong. Almost too easy. Good buttery mouthfeel and just the right amount of spiciness. Wish that I was able to get this more often - but then again, I might be in trouble if that was the case! Simply fantastic - a definite must try if you haven't yet!
