On tap. Pours a murky burnt orange color with an inch of thick, frothy head that dissipates very slowly. Fair amount of lacing. Great aromas of citrus and tropical fruits, namely orange and pineapple. Taste is more citrus than tropical fruits with some grapefruit and hints of floral hops near the end. Orange peel finish. Fair amount of bitterness. Pretty heavy mouthfeel for the style. I also never would have guessed that the ABV is below 5. This reminds me a bit of a more citrusy 668. Insanely drinkable. Overall, NebCo continues to impress.

32oz. growler into a Pizza Boy pint glass.

Pours a 1 finger coarse white head with low retention. Beer is a semi-clear pale orange. Lacing is layered and thick with good stick. A good looking beer considering the container format.

Nose is citrus, pine, cane sugar and a grapefruit hop bitterness. A touch of soapiness too. Moderately aromatic.

Opens papaya, citrus and grapefruit. Some pine hop bitterness with a light malt backbone for balance. End is hoppy and citrussy with a bitter finish and a lingering, sticky hop aftertaste. Pretty much what I want from the style.

Light bodied with moderate to low carbonation. Slick and quenching in the mouth and goes down smooth with some light bubbles. Clean finish with a slightly filmy aftertaste. Appropriate for the style.

NEBCO is slowly starting to be recognized for the pale ales and this one doesn't disappoint. Nothing really stands out here but that's a good thing. Very drinkable with a nicely balanced flavor profile and appetizing nose. Worth trying.
