Served from a 375ml bottle into an Allagash Coolship tumbler. Bottle number 360 of 446. Batch 2.

Appearance- Hazy gold with one finger white head that sticks around for a while. Nice lacing remains.

Smell- Heavy brett, but through it, I can still smell the 668 base. Sweet caramel and muted hops remain, but Brett is predominant. Lemon and chardonnay grape also abound.

Taste- Buttery vanilla oakieness (assuming from the chardonnay barrel), light lemons, green grapes, peaches. Fruit forward, but that buttery vanilla is outstanding. No booze either. Not sour, but incredibly lightly tart. Brett dryness and funk.

Mouthfeel- Light carbonation and light body. Dry with no pucker.

Overall- I'm glad this beer lives up to my expectations I had for it, because it's one I've wanted to try for a while. I still have 2 bottles and damn right I'll be aging this one to really bring out that brett!

500ml batch 1 bottle "one of only 300 bottles" indication on the side. Poured into a 668 cervoise, the brew appears a perfectly clear golden orange color with 3 fingers of fluffy white head that slowly fades leaving a full wall of patchy lace. Rising bubbles of carbonation maintain more than a finger of head throughout the entire duration.

The aroma is very vinous. Huge chardonney character right down to the booze aspect. Some hints of spicy raw oak are also present. As more whiffs are taken into the nose a mild brett inclusion is noticed with almost a lactic sort of yogurt appeal and it's own layer of tropical fruit aspects. The base brew 668 is impressively transformed and seemingly nothing like this new creation.

The flavor is boozy with flavors of chardonney seemingly so aggressive that it is almost to a fault. Under the boozy vinous notes is some raw oak character that is mildly spicy almost like incense or cedar. More sips reveal a mild earthen aspect and mild belgian yeasty spice like clove and banana which is the first real suggestion of this beer being 668 as the base.

This is a medium bodied brew that is modest to effervescently carbonated. It is quite boozy and bold with the barrel character. Having not been the biggest fan of the base beer, I am going to say this is a bit of an improvement but there is some area for even more improvement. By all regards Nebco is really coming into their own and making some standup stuff. Wish I had access to the goods a little more easily.

2013 - #?/446

A - Amber, cloudy-copper, with a small creamy-white head

S - Apples, grapes, phenol, vanilla, oak, sour

T - Grapes, lemongrass, oak. Tastes like you would expect a 668 aged in oak wine barrels to taste, which hopefully makes sense if you've had regular 668. Has a nice, boozy, slightly sour aftertaste

O - Another winner! Although I'm biased at this point, I still think it'd be hard to find someone who outright wouldn't like this offering.

Looking forward to the cellar with the others.
