On draft at Bilbo's
Pours a cloudy rusty bronze with a faded yellowish orange color. Features a soft white sand colored head that lasted about a minute and leaves thick rings of lacing.
Orange and grapefruit in the nose. The aroma is rather soft.
Flavor is more full. Again quite citrus filled. The flavor starts somewhat mild but grows well into the aftertaste.
Medium body and very smooth.
Overall this is decent. Wish the flavor had more going on, but still enjoyable.

Growler poured into an imperial pint glass.
A- It poured with just over a 1-finger, tan head. The body was a clean copper with moderate carbonation. The head retention was great, holding at about 1/2 finger, leaving wonderful, sticky rings on the glass.
S- The aroma was of nice, earthy hops that were mostly grassy initially. The background had some lighter, bready notes. After warming a little, I picked up some spicy hops and a touch of caramel.
T- Great combination of bready malts and more earthy hops (mostly grassy, with a little citrus quality). There was a little spicy, hop bite in the finish. The flavor wasn't quite as complex as the aroma would suggest.
M- The carbonation was a little lighter than the visual would suggest. It had a good hop bite, but was just a little thinner/cleaner than I like. There was just a touch of a grainy feel.
D- It's a good drinker and was remarkably fresh. There's not a real "wow" factor to separate it from other American IPAs, but it's pretty good all the same. It's one of the better Bilbo's beers I've had and a wonderful compliment to the house dressing and cheesy sticks I crave.
