Poured from a 12 oz. can into a tall pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a hazy golden orange with a lot of bubbles. Big three finger off white head which slowly settles into a thinner layer. Leaves some good lacing.

Smell: A juicy and floral hop forward aroma with hints of citrus and pine. Upfront citrus hops with hints of orange peel, grapefruit, lemon, mango, pineapple, and tangerine. Dank hints of pine resin along with some floral hints. Solid malt background with hints of grains, caramel, cracker, and lager yeast. A pretty good smell.

Taste: Like the smell hints at, a juicy and earthy hop forward taste with good notes of citrus and pine. Citrus hops with good juicy notes of grapefruit, mango, orange, lemon, pineapple, and tangerine. Good earthy and floral hop presence with notes of pine resin and grass. Soft bready malt background with notes of caramel, grains, cracker, and lager yeast. A very solid taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Juicy, crisp, and pretty smooth with a drying finish.

Overall: A very solid brew that is described as a California Common but comes off like a citrus forward American Pale Ale. Really good use of hops.

look: 3.75 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

Appearance: Pours from the can a clear amber color; the head is relatively small but leaves a smattering of dots and streaks

Smell: Bready malts underpin a woodsy and fruity tone

Taste: Bready and fruity, up front, with tones of apricot and toffee; tangerine and pine build in the middle; nicely balanced in the finish, with assertive flavors in both the hop and malt departments

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: A nice twist on the California Common style that verges into pale ale territory

Thanks, DaftPatrick, for the opportunity
