Poured into a SA pint glass, thanks to Beeg for this one.
A: Poured a coffee brown color with no real head but plenty of carbonation.
S: Smelled nondescript and just slightly like roasted coffee malts. Pretty average for a dunkel.
T: Tastes like a lager with more roasted malts and not a whole lot of hop bitterness. There should be richer, more complex character in the flavor, but I can't find any.
M: Thin, crisp, and fairly refreshing. For a dark beer, this one is uncharacteristically clean.
D: This would make for a good session beer for the dark beer drinker. I'm not a huge fan of the style, but the modest ABV and that "good enough" taste would make it a worthwhile pickup.
I probably wouldn't buy this one personally, but it's better than their Verum. Give it a shot, and you probably won;t be disappointed.
