Did not expect much when bought, only purchased it because this was a new item at my local supermarket
served around 3-4 degree Celsius, after pulling it right out of the fridge after sitting there for 2 days.
No specific aroma when poured, and there is little to no head.
It's got a crisp bite on palate, and hoppiness is above that of Beck's that keeps the beer very interesting .
I am used to drinking pale ales and Belgians, so this beer has little body, taste is very dry and smooth.
After consuming some more, this beer stays crisp and refreshing, well above my expectation.
Great beer. I'd definitely buy again and recommend to others

Dated 11/21/14.

Appearance: Perfectly clear straw color with a fluffy white half-finger of head. Looks like any other beer of the style.

Aroma: Touch of skunk even though it was in a brown bottle, possibly just a yeast ester that I'm interpreting as a skunky smell. Some dry breadyness and a little bit of sweet corn.

Taste: There is actually a decent amount of flavor in this thing, especially considering the somewhat low 4.8% ABV. It's not the usual bland adjunct flavor because Premium Verum is, as far as I can tell, not made with any adjuncts. Pilsen and Munich malts give a rounded grainy flavor that is akin to wheat bread. There is just the right amount of hop bitterness to create a great balance. Some grassy/hay hop flavor comes through in the finish and lingers with the malt in the aftertaste. In true pilsener fashion the finish is crisp and refreshing.

Mouthfeel: Thin in body with average carbonation for the style (meaning tons of effervescent bubbles attacking your palate). Great drinkability and easily sessionable.

Final Thoughts: Everyone's had at least one so-called pilsener in their life. Most of the mass produced beer on the market calls itself a pilsener but is in fact made with adjuncts. Hats off to Warsteiner for keeping things authentic with Premium Verum. Would I drink it again? Sure, there is a time and a place for this particular brew and it just so happens to be summertime now.

Very clear, pale yellow beer with large white foam. Head retention is very good.

Taste is light, with slight malt sweetness and a light bitterness.

Mouthfeel is moderately light and well carbonated. Clean finish.

At 4.8% it is a smooth, light lager. A great German summer beer.
