Easy-drinking Euro pilsener with a Heineken-like taste, but less sour. Crystal clear light golden yellow with weak head. Sour hops with some slight sweet maltiness. Clean and refreshing taste, no alcohol burn or off-tastes. Better than Heiney or any macro American beers for the masses.

Picked up a twelver, haven't had Warsteiner since I got into beer, and could appreciate it. Time to give 'er hell.

A: Poured a brilliant golden color with a white head about 1/4" thick. Very bubbly and crystal clear. Very delicious looking pils.

S: Various malty flavors, wet straw, floral hops, mustyish, sugary smells. Pretty good smelling beer.

T: Malty sweetness at the front, nice balanced hops on the end, just a hint of bite. Pretty sweet in all. Very, very balanced though, nothing seems out of place. Nice hop bitterness that lingers.

M: Nicely carbonated, pretty slick in the mouth, goes down very easily. Hangs in the mouth a while, begs for another drink.

D: Very drinkable, I have drank many of these in the same night, and can do it with little protest. This is one of my favorite beers, if not my favorite pils. Delicious beer.

had this on tap at the Barellhead(Springfield,Il)

Pours a pale straw yellow with thick bleach white head that leaves behind some nice lacing as it dissapates. The smell and taste are pretty average for an above average Pils, good hop presence along with a semi sweet maltieness, like others I also detect some hints of lemon. The finish is light and crisp, good drinkability,a nice German Pils.

A - Poured out a crystal clear yellow color with a good deal of carbonation. A bubbly, white head left small trails of lace.

S - It smelled of grains, light caramel malt and clove.

T - It had a nice sweet flavor with a smooth light maltiness. It has a subtle bitter bite from some hops.

M - It was crisp and sharp. A light to medium-bodied beer.

D - This is a pretty good pils. Makes a great session brew.

Purchased as part of "build-your-own-six-pack" at local grocer. Poured a very lager yellow, medium head. Smell was completely unobtrusive, faintly sweet, perhaps a bit of the skunk others have mentioned, but barely there. Slight bitter at the start, but a delicious sweet aftertaste. A fine daily brew, not spectacular, but certainly good.

A - straw-golden, bright, clear. CO2 bubbles race to the top of the glass. Small head quickly falls leaving no lace.

S - bready malt sweetness. Noble hop spicy aroma also shines through.

T - initially a bready malt sweetness. This is followed in the middle with a lemony bitterness. The sweetness comes back in the aftertaste.

M - Light and crisp. All the CO2 and noble hops make it prickle on the tongue.

D - Very drinkable and refreshing. A good example of a German Pils. Great for warm summer days.

Purchased at a Kingston, ON LCBO in a single. Ingredients: brewing water, barley malt, hop extract. Best before September 17 2008. 4.80% abv, 500mL can. Poured into a Stella Artois gold-rimmed glass.

Light straw body, huge white sudsy head. Really YELLOW. Lots of bubbles.

Big floral hop notes on pour. Classic noble hop spice after that. Some lighter buttery malt notes.

Palate is spicy, subtle malt backbone. Big carbonation, feel is a bit creamy. Finish is super boozy with more spice. Dry too, just a hint of maltiness. Weird.

Not my favourite German lager. Tastes like it was cut with vodka. I hate how the LCBO has 5-10 German/Czech pilseners and just a handful of real Belgians...

Ah, Warsteiner.

Appearance was an average golden yellow, not alot of head and what little there was went fast.

Smell was nice, a bit malty and buttery.

Taste was smooth, crisp, alot of carbonation and again with a buttery flavor. Smooth finish.

Mouthfeel was good, very light, only issue here was that there was alot of carbonation.

Drinkability is high, good session beer, great at cookouts, barbecue, anything meat.

Smell: Good malt presence, a touch of hops.

Taste: Clean taste. Good hop flavor that contributes to the crisp finish. Slightly sweet throughout.

Mouthfeel: Solid light-medium bodied brew.

Drinkablity: Tasty and well built, a great brew for a simple change of pace.

I have heard great things about this beer, so I am pretty excited to give it a whirl. I bartended a 50th birthday party, and this was on tap, and everyone loved it. Seeing as I don't drink when I bartend, I was left out of the enjoyment, but finally... here goes

A: Pours golden with a proudly standing foamy/creamy head that lasts a few minutes

S: smells great of sweet grains and maybe bread?

T: I can see why this was popular. Great sweetness to it with a light hop bitterness that finishes extra clean

M: Crisp and very very clean finish, makes you want more

D: Probably one of my favorites as of now... I can't wait to try the others that warsteiner has to offer. I can definitely see why they were all so excited about this. Definitely worth a pickup

Pours out beautifully with a soft, creamy three minute head. When it steadily melts away it leaves a tangled spider web of lacing on the Hefe Glass i'm drinking it out of. Reflects a seductive golden color with average, even carbonation.

The beer kicks out a very well balanced simple and clean taste and smell. When brought to the nose I smell floral notes on the head with a grainy aura to back it up. It emits a very subtle smell, sweet, discreet and definately nothing offensive.

Slightly bitter. Weak banana bread. I can definately taste the hops in this. Well rounded!

I wish American domestics would taste like this. Great drinkability and pure ingrediants. Got to love Germany. Tingly mouthfeel and I feel like there's a wheat aftertaste here.

Not bad at all!

A light golden in appearance with a crisp head. Smell is slightly skunked, slight malt and hops. Taste is lightly sweet, grainy with a good hop bite that is left to cloy. Mouthfeel medium that has a carbonation bite as it goes down. not great, but worth a try.

I have had this beer numerous times and finally decided to write a review.
Appearance: The beer pours well, has a nice head, but it is gone within 3 minutes. Nice soft golden color gives the beer a nice look in the glass.
Smell: at times, this beer can be skunky in smell, but from the 5litre cask, it has a nice aroma that invites you to drink it when brought to the nose.
Taste: The taste is OK, I always expect more a pilsner taste with this beer; it is disappointing in that it is a weak, softer pils taste with no real bite to it. I can see how this appeals to a wider audience, but I tend to like the sharpness of a true pils.
Drinkability: Overall, good but not great. It serves the purpose but I usually only have one then move onto other beers (ie, BBK, DAB, etc.)
Worth the try.

I have tried this beer before but it wasent untill recently that I began to appreciate it. I have slowly grown tired of microbrews that are quadruple hoped or laced with blueberries. I really just wanted a nice simple lager that does not taste like crap (A.K.A. Bud). This is the answer. It is brewed according to the German purity law of 1516 meaning that there are no cheap ingreadients used just water, yeast, barley and hops.

This is a nice simple style beer that is easy to drink and tastes even better.

poured a clear light golden, thin collar with little retention.
smelled, slightly sweet, hop whiff.
taste was tangy-tart, nice kiss of hops with a smooth finish.
mouthfeel was bubbly thin and crisp.
drinkability is excellent. It is to me what American macros should be..quality light and easy drinking..this would make a great session brew!

S - 12 oz bottle. didnt look for freshness

A - Pours a straw golden, head is about a finger and then reduces to nothing. not bad but not good.

S - grainy notes, slight honey, a touch of citrus and some small floral notes as well.

T - sweet malt, touch of honey again, nice subtle bitterness, finishes clean.

M - crisp, clean, slightly dry

D - If this is the only available decent brew, its all I would drink.

12 oz bottle poured into a pilsner glass. It was clear pale yellow with a nice three fingers worth of white fluffy head that didn't last to long

Nice light aromatics of wheat and bread fill your head

Light and crisp with a nice tingle from the carbonation on the tongue

Extremely mild flavors of malt and light hop bitter end

A nice light beer to start of the day I'd drink it again but wouldn't go out of my way looking for it.

12oz from the Coop for about $1.40.. poured into my smaller weizen glass.

Short lasting 2" head.. no real lacing... crystal clear straw brew.

aroma is all pale malt and a touch of spicy hops.. very clean.

drinkability is through the roof.. very smooth.. bigger mouthfeel than most German pils... with clean malts and balanced bitterness... spicy hoppiness and a dry finish.

Don't know much else to say except I've always liked this beer... I used to buy it a bunch when I was brewing alot of lagers.. you can drink it all day no problem.

This German pilsener poured a light straw hue with a very small head that dissipated quickly.

The smell was very light, with aromas of grain and a touch of grassier hops. The taste was very true to style with a light malt body, earthy hop taste, and a crisp finish. The consistency was thin and the carbonation was medium/high.

This is a clean, crisp, German pilsener. While it is light in body and taste, it is true to style. It's worth a try, but I feel that there are better beers of this style out there.

The second Pilsner in a custom mix 6-pack from the local beer store here in Bucyrus, OH. I do not know much about this style to compare it to the perfect example, but here's my take on it.

A: Golden, excellent clarity, white delicate head that dissipates rather quickly to virtually nothing but a steady stream of bubbles from below.

S: Slightly hoppy, nothing to write home about BUT... no skunk!

T: Fairly strong hop presence. Sort of brief metallic after taste, perhaps the hops but unsure.

M/D: Mouthfeel was really nice, not watery at all, although the carbonation almost too much. This was a very easy beer to drink, not exactly my favorite style but definitely has enough going on to stay interesting.

pretty easy to get in supermarkets even here in beijing, although i've yet to see it in any restaurants or bars.

clear golden pale straw color, lots of head, but almost instantly drops to almost zero. no lacing.

good noble hop aromas, some yeastiness, hint of malt.

bitterness is prominent in the flavor throughout, but you can get a peep of malt or fruit sweetness, and a trace of acidity. nothing bad, but not spectacular either.

mouthfeel isn't too thin, carbonation is noticeable and somewhat refreshing.

Meh, there's corn in the aroma and nobody wants that. There's also pale malts and little bit of hops, but it definitely smells like vegetables and DMS. The appearance is a clear gold without retention and the flavor does a little better with mild Saaz flavor and bitterness that develops in the aftertaste. There's also a little light caramel or butter (diacetyl?) along a biscuit flavor. The mouthfeel, however, is right on, being dry, crisp and balanced. It's a shame about the flaws, otherwise this would be a decent beer.

A: Pretty standard straw colour, medium sized, stark white head which dissipated rather quickly, leaving a tiny trim of lace.

S: Rather earthy, hops, otherwise a very mild aroma... nothing much spectacular, but not bad.

T: Hops, with an slight sweetness... almost like pear? Very mild and requires some time in the mouth to really notice, I found. All in all, not a bad taste, though.

M / D: Mild carbonation, goes down fairly easily and smooth. Certainly easy to drink, more like a cola... perhaps good ice cold for a hot day, and better than some others that could come to mind, but a pretty average pilsner all around.

11.2oz brown bottle with a best before date of 09/25/08. Pours a pale yellow with a huge head, just OK longevity and Just OK lace. Decent malt aromas mixed with honey and citrus - standard pilsner aromas I guess. Good pilsner malt flavors, richer than the color would lead you to believe. Good hop flavor and bitterness too - although the bottle states its extract, kind of lame but it works OK I guess. A decent enough beer just nothing great.
