on cask at salisibury winterfest (real ale festival). black in color; like a porter, shows only a little reddish tones in light. creamy tan head, fades quickly. chocolate, coffee, and roasty flavors dominate; very much like a lighter porter. slightly less body than a porter. very good at first but as I drink the flavors become slightly sweeter than would promote drinkability.

Some soap, and boiled egg in the aroma, with some nice chocolateyness. Palate is nice and soft, fruity, chocolatey, with a nice lightly roasted finish, pretty long finish for a beer of 3.8%ABV. Subtle, like a mild normally is, but subtlety is something i've always liked (Cask KentBF03')

A traditional English 'mild' beer, something that is fast disappearing from UK pubs, and Church End's regular and reliable mild, something they keep brewing and selling. I very nice soft easy mild beer, but the character not ever thin as some 'mild' beers can be, and whilst light in texture and low alcohol, plenty of character for this style of beer. If you have never tried English 'mild' then this is the one to have, followed by Highgate and Walsalls version!

On-Cask at the Three Judges, Glasgow.
Dark brown/near black with a small head of khaki foam. Aromas of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, caramel, and other yummy things! Taste is roasted malts up front leading into some nice chocolate flavors. Finish is malty and sweet with caramel undertones. Hops are also in the mix, but they are kind of buried in the back of this brew. So incredibly smooth on cask, and imminently drinkable. Definately one of the best Dark Milds available in the UK. Simply amazing.

Cask at The Fleece.

Extremely dark brown with a finger of foamy tan head that produced some great lace. Smooth and tempting roasted malt nose, with lots of coffee and chocolate. Surprisingly strong roasted flavours for a mild, and its a bit reminiscent of a stout or porter. Good coffee notes upfront moving through to smooth chocolate and nuts tossed in caramel. Light bitterness in the finish. Smooth, medium body with a great cask feel. Hugely sessionable and incredibly drinkable - a credit to the brewery!
