Served in straight pint glass. Poured a light black, slightly translucent, with a thick creamy head that had good retention and lacing.

The aroma was that of a typical porter, roasty malt, with no vanilla in the nose. The taste was the same, typical porter, but there was just the slightest hint of vanilla apparent.

The body was average for the style. Drinkability was good, typical, but enjoyable. If you see it, give it a shot. (432 characters)

What a fabulous, freaky beer! The vanilla is exactly where it should be: not a timid novelty or quirky afterthought, but a bold defining element that clearly establishes the brew’s identity from its earliest moments. The medley of flavors runs through vanilla and chocolate with a touch of mint and a luscious splash of cream. The total effect is intriguing and captivating.

This would make a great dessert beer though it’s still accessible enough for sessions. The color is dark ruby and though it is served on nitro, the head diminishes quickly and is never frothy. The aroma is solid, unrelenting, and, as they say, vanill-icious. A must-try when available. (667 characters)
