This is a great place to go in Bend if the more major microbrewery place is crowded. This is a place with a great patio to sit on hot summers day. Drink their Hefe, Pale Ale, or IPA and watch the day go by. They got great views of the Mirror Pond on the river that the other brewery gets its name from.

Inside there are a couple of choices for seating. In the bar area, if you want to meet folks or down in the dining room with its large picture windows and Bend views.

This place can get crowded in the evening but the wait staff are friendly and the food comes out quickly. Their calamari is about the best I've gotten here in Oregon.

I like to stay in a downtown inn within walking distance. That way I can sample more of their beers.

Decent but busy brewpub in Bend. Taps limited to house brews, but pretty robust selection.. Nice view of river from patio. Variety on menu, decent pub grub.

Somewhat modern brewpub downtown by the river. Small L-shaped bar on a platform a few steps above the dining room, mostly service, with 4 seats at the end.. tables and booths about the dining room and on the outside patio. A dozen beers on tap. Friendly bartender. Wing were nice, but like everything these days overpriced.

Modern design with many tall glass windows with basic furnishings. Outside is a huge lawn, so you could bring a blanket on a warm day and lounge out front. They also have a food truck or two out there. The beer is adequate.

Came here for beer and lunch on a Sunday during the pandemic. We sat inside and had flights of their beer. I had the schnitzel and our friends had fish and chips. The schnitzel was really well-prepared but a little under-seasoned for my taste. Service was mostly at the bar, but the food was delivered to our table.

But let's talk about important things: The beer. Their selection was pretty good, maybe 8-12 taps, with a variety of pretty traditional styles, including a few different IPA styles. Nothing heart-palpitatingly trendy or exciting. But, everything we tried was really well made and very tasty. Their porter was excellent, their cask IPA was really good, their pilsner might have been my favorite beer while we were there.

Servers were friendly and service was fast. It also wasn't very busy. They had a huge outdoor seating area, which looked like it would be awesome on a nice day (but this day was cold and windy).

after spending the morning walking around downtown bend and shopping, it was a welcome sight to stumble on this place at the end of the road, a brewery i had only had a few beers from before our visit, its an awesome spot, and highly recommended. they have a wonderful space, one of the best outside spaces i have ever seen at a brewery actually, almost like a part, with a huge yard sloping down to the river, with a gorgeous view of the water, mature trees casting shade, lawn games, picnic tables and adirondack chairs, green grass, its seriously paradise, perfectly manicured and mellow, even when pretty full of people. they also have a more conventional patio area, but the lawn space is where its at. inside its a standard brewpub vibe, we only went in to order beers at the bar and use the restrooms. they have an awesome thing going on the weekends, a couple of outside tents set up, one grilling food the other acting as a second bar, so there was no wait for drinks even though it was pretty busy. service was unremarkable, beer list was solid with some classics and a little innovation too, and we liked everything we drank. i love how dog friendly it is, how open that outside space is, and how chill the whole place is, really just an amazing set up they have. we did not eat here, but it looked like better than standard pub fare. overall this place should be a destination of the weather is nice, rarely have i been in such a lovely outdoor area at a brewery, the beer is almost secondary. well worth a trip!

I stopped in a Bend Brewing Company on a recent pilgrimage to Bend. For the most part, I think it's a pretty good place. However, the couple of beers I had were OK to not-so-great. Of course, this could just have been my selections on the day I went -- the next time I'm in Bend I'll definitely give BBC another shot.

That being said, it's a great little brewery in other respects. A craft beer vibe permeates the place, and the atmosphere manages to be dim but friendly. I had a plate of nachos as a late-night snack and they definitely did the trick -- although there was enough food for a whole table of people on that plate. If there's one thing I've learned about Bend, they are not skimpy on food portions. Staff were par-for-the-course in this tourist town; friendly and ready to sell some beer.

8/29/16 was a re-visit stop (#18 of 49) on another pub crawl. This brewery may be evidence that time improves all things, and we enjoyed ourselves much more on this visit. The food and the beers were rated much better, so my revised scores are used in the current rating. (My old rating was 3.60)

This was stop #33 for my wife and I on a 21-day pub-crawl from Michigan to N. CA and OR. We stopped here on a Tuesday evening to enjoy their beers and to have dinner. The brewery is located on the fringe of the downtown area in an attractive, stand-alone building. Finding a parking spot was an issue, but we only had to walk a block.

To go along with our dinner we ordered a sampler flight of all 10 of the beers that were available. Each of the beers is brewed to style, but most of them were just average or slightly better. However. There were some standouts, including maybe the most surprising beer that we experienced in our three-week trip. (Surprising because we are not sour beer lovers and this was the most sour of all that we had experienced to date.) That beer is called Ching Ching. Also notable were the Elk Lake IPA and the Scottish Heart Scotch Ale.

We enjoyed our meal, and then called it a day because we were beer’d out when we finished, and tomorrow was the start of the 4-day drive back to Michigan. We liked this brewpub and would definitely return if we are ever in Bend again.
