This was poured into a mug. The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a thin off white to almost tan foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Sly lacing ran here and there. The aroma started off with some deep sweet milk chocolate malts. And then roasty coffee bean makes a decent effort to balance. Ruddy with an ample amount of a nice light black licorice to boot. The flavor leads nicely to a sweet smooth taste all around. Light raisin to balance. Semi-sweet to nice roasty edge in and around the aftertaste. Runs into the finish nice and quick. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Carbonation runs nice and light. Seems to spread evenly over my tongue in a smooth sort of way. Overall, this is actually, probably their best offering in my opinion. Very nicely done American styled stout.

Poured from a bomber into a shaker pint, the beer is jet black, thick on the pour, with a low profile, bubbly, tan head that quickly settles out. Aromas of heavily roasted coffee, heavy on the bitter, with bittersweet cocoa nib notes, hints of cream, and char highlights. Flavors are heavy coffee once again, bitter and heavily roasted, with bittersweet baker's cocoa notes, and hints of char. The body is light and smooth, with a subtle effervescence at the end from the carbonation. The aftertaste is all roast and toast, with a linger of bittersweet chocolate going through the light, effervesced, slightly cloying finish.
