Festooned with piles upon piles of Green Bay Packer paraphenlia - from Barbie to vintage jerseys to custom fishing rods - one would think this would be the place to be on Superbowl Sunday; but, no, unlike every other bar on the planet, they close early every evening and are not open on weekends at all. "Last Call when We Call" is a fitting motto for the bar, a slender slab of wood against the back wall, backed with maybe 20 taps of a mix of fresh kegs of California IPAs (e.g. Blind Pig, Sculpin, Hoptimum, Pliny the Elder) and a good mix of Belgian and Belgian-style ales with a few darker beers thrown in for good measure.

On the left wall is the deli, often manned by the octogenerian couple that runs the place, the food looked good (though "The Exterminator" will leave you with the worst breath on earth I imagine), but I didn't have any during my visit.

Bottled beer fills up every other nook and cranny, and you'll find yourself squeezing by people drinking at the various tables/chairs in the room trying to grab a prized bottle sitting just behind them. The selection is impressive, with a notably full range of German beers in particular. There are two prices on each bottle, one for take-away, and one for popping open on premises. Tons of local (California) craft beer as well as a sizable selection of Belgian ales offers something for everyone. For the very rare or limited releases, you might have to ask (or perhaps be a regular), but you'll find most of what you are looking for here (though occasionally at an immodest mark-up).

Craft soda and gourmet snacks take up another shelf, just in case you hadn't spent enough money yet...

This is a family run business, and the servers are cantankerous, amusing, kind, and gruff - to me a nice mid-west breath of fresh air compared to the forced smiles common to many other So-Cal establishments.

If you can get there when they are actually open (and you have to be in Orange County for some reason), I highly recommend it.

Been here many times and the beers on tap never disappoint. I've had everything from a goose island tap takover (which had 3 of the bourbon county beers), to special and limited Lagunitas releases such as the waldo beer. Also they reguraly have pliny and blind pig on tap which is always a nice surprise. I used to go there for the sandwiches also but the sandwiches are fairy expensive, about 7-10 dollars for a single and 14-20 bucks for a double (which is ridiculous) and that accompanied with a 6-12 dollar beer really adds up quick.

Overall its a great spot if you want awesome beer and pretty good sandwiches, just be ready to pay about 20 dollars for one single sandwich and one beer. Service is sub par but for me the beer they have make up for it. Would recommend.
