Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with a fine two finger light tan head with great retention and lacing. Aroma is caramel malt, citrus hops, orange citrus, light tropical fruit, mildly spicy. Flavor is mild caramel and biscuit malt, citrus hops, light stone fruit and orange citrus, hints of tropical fruit; finishing with lightly resinous pine and citrus hop bitterness. Medium bodied with light creaminess and good carbonation. A good sturdy caramel malt with biscuit notes supporting a nice blend of hops providing citrus and mixed fruit flavors. Well balanced and flavorful with a really good residual, lightly resinous finish. A perfect rainy day IPA. This bottled version is a little higher ABV: 7.2.

in a can now, not the bottle pictured, and on the label as 7.8% abv too, sure there must be some variance over time and some evolution, whatever, its another fun one from these guys, decidedly different from what everyone else is doing, and thats always cool, i cannot get enough from these guys, and every time i come to washington i eagerly look forward to buying their stuff, straight up! interestingly, i have had a lot more saison and wild types from them instead of hoppy ones, so this is a bit of a new avenue in my experience with their beer. its kind of tart, oddly, canned back in september, not old, but not fresh either now, do the hops create that clean little tang in here or is it the age? it certainly doesnt smell or taste infected, but to call this tidy would be wrong too. tons of weirdness and goodness at the same time, like yellow cherry, white currant, tropical cocktail, gin botanicals, fresh orange, and more malt than expected too. a light bronze tone to it, high head, lots of bubbles both visually and on my palate. its complex and layered, maybe unintentionally fruity, some yeast element again from these guys too, not saison-esque, but not sterile either, not by a long shot. interesting stuff, i taste a good amount of grain too, this has all the elements, but honestly, its curiously twangy, but hoppy and fresh, and a different take on ipa, which is really all i want right now. i adore these guys, the can is sexy, and i want more!

Pours a nice even amber/gold with tons of carbonation and a gigantic, super soft (almost looks like nitro) just off white head.
Smell is sweet and creamy and tropical. Honestly had to look back at the can to make sure I wasn't fooled into buying a lactose IPA. Peach and guava along with whatever the 'pink' is in pink lemonade. Behind it all is a creamy pie crust like sweetness.
Taste hews close to the smell at first sip, with a little more citrus rind presence. Ultimately though, the guava and creamy pie crust dominate. Kind of insane to think this flavor is straight from malt and hops. Not overly sweet per se but pretty much lacking in any significant bitterness.
Assuming you approach this as more of a NEIPA this is a really impressive mouthfeel. 'juicy' and 'pillowy' both apply. Super soft and smooth with a very light perceived carbonation.
Overall the flavors are impressive, fruity and flora for certain. The mouthfeel adds to the juiciness and generally this is one of the better examples of the modern take on american IPAs I've enjoyed. It's ultimately to soft and creamy for me to want to drink many of in a row, but the flavors are enjoyable.

Opened 9 days after the bottled-on date.
Vibrant dark orange color with two fingers of pretty frothy, tan-tinted head that leaves heavy lacing.
Big, earthy aroma of pine tar, some muted citrus, a touch of strawberry and a faint herbal smell.
The taste is a complete malt assault. When cold, it's a gross nutty, corny mess. At room temp it's a dark-caramel-and-heavy-pine-tar combo, almost, but not quite, burnt, with some lingering orange juice sweetness and moderate hop bitterness.
Heavy, creamy mouthfeel; a touch of prickliness in there, but still fairly flat feeling.
Mixed feelings about this one. You've gotta love malt bombs to enjoy this. Interesting change of pace, anyhow.

Clear amber brew with plenty of foam i the Affligem chalice. Medium body. Tangy and sharp with hop oils. A sourish note in the aroma along with the smell of fermenting pineapple.
Moderately bitter. Rather sweet and tastes more like a Double IPA. Strange stuff, like orange juice with a Yukon Jack chaser. LIght body. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Bottleworks in Seattle.

Purchased a 22 oz bottle from Beaumont Market. Another tasty beer from 3 Magnets. Light copper in color. Creamy head that was quite sustainable and left a lot of lacing. The smell is light pungent fruit and caramel malt. Citrus and herbal notes as well. The flavor is superb. High hoppy NW style IPA, grapefruit, tropical fruit, apricot, peach, hints of pine and herbs. Resinous and juicy, but not too bitter. Just right. The malt cuts through & smooths this all out. Excellent beer in my opinion.

17 day old bottle and aromas couldn't be any better. Definitely fruit forward on the nose and flavor and a bit of pungent hop flavor floating through. Bitterness is balanced making this a welcome sipper in a 22ounce format. Overall a great beer.
