I walked over after a game at the Asheville Tourists' McCormick Field. It was a private event, which Catawba did a great job with in their fairly new tasting room. Our bartenders were excellent and even let me try some of their barrel-aged beers that were not on the menu. Their private event setup included a DJ and catered food. There were about 25 taps with about 15 different beers at the main bar and a smaller bar in another room around the corner.

During my recent trip to Asheville, I booked a tour with the Asheville Brews Cruise and Catawba, a recent addition to the beer scene, was the last stop (of three). Located in a strip mall in the ritzy Biltmore Village, the venue is a single room with two rows of communal tables
At one end is the small bar where one can ply themselves with tasters, pints or pitchers. Our group had several different styles, one being the Hyper-Monkey Java Stout. Coffee and beer!
Yummy. A worthwhile place to hang out to enjoy another one of Beer City's liquid attractions.
Oh yeah, near Biltmore Village is some big house .... or something.
