Simon is calling from Long Beach and has told me the Bourbon County Stout is on-tap. Well, I'm a sucker for that beer, and being a bar I hadn't heard of in Long Beach, I had to make the trip. The Stache could easily be missed from the street, but there's adequate room to move around inside. Although busy, I didn't feel crammed. A long bar stretches nearly all the way across the room and is easy to access. There's a pool table towards the back, high round tables at the opposite side of the bar.

8 easy to read taps were written behind the bar with price and alcohol content. I came at the right time; a Goose Island takeover was on, which included special taps like Bourbon County Stout, Bourbon Coffee Stout, Bourbon County Barleywine, Madame Rose, Festivity Ale, with the Bourbon County series available is 3 ounce tasters and full 7 ounce pours for $7. Adding to the icing is a can/bottle list that's two dozen deep and more than adequate, offering London Pride, Strand, Murphy's, Boulevard, Schneider Weisse (oddly, that menu did not list prices). I didn't see any shaker pints, just tulips, tasters, and Goose Island branded goblets holding their beers.

The Stache offered me the chance to get my Bourbon County drink on. I'd be surprised if this were the norm at The Stache, but this special event hints that others will follow. Keep an eye out for The Stache.
