This beer is listed as a "Belgian-style Noël". Served on tap in a tulip at the brewpub.
Appearance: dark hue, basically black when the glass is full. Head is one finger of surprisingly light creamy foam.
Smell: lightly sweet malt aroma with a little tartness. There is also a solid helping of yeasty breadiness.
Taste: sweet, complex malt with a delicious complexity of fruitiness and yeastiness. Bitterness is enough to balance this malt, which is good. Almost like a strong dubbel ... I love it.
Mouthfeel: silky texture; medium body with plenty of carbonation. I really like it; it's authentically Belgian in character.
Overall: a solid dark Belgian. I look forward to having it again.
Serving type: on-tap
