Appearance – Amber? This beer is dark brownish-orange and cloudy. It looks more like a pale ale with a giant malt balance. It looks good, just not very “amber”. The head came up moderately.

Smell – Big, toasty, sugary malts dominate this nose. I can also pick up some leafy characteristics, but it’s mostly brown sugar and liquid malt.

Taste – I get a bit more of the leafy flavors at the taste. The malts and sugars are huge though.

Mouthfeel – Medium-bodied with some noticeable leafy bitterness throughout.

Drinkability – This is a good beer, just not an “amber ale”. It tasted more like a Scotch Ale, really.

This was available on-tap and in 22 oz bombers.

Appearance: clear dark copper color with a 1" head that stays in place for a while. Thick lacing forms on the glass.

Smell: caramel candy and brown sugar.

Taste: caramel, lite bread texture, ripe red fruits, brown sugar sweetness, and a decent bitterness create a nicely balanced beer.

Mouthfeel: crisp at the start and finish. Medium bodied. The finish has some of the sweetness lingering on the tongue for while.

Drinkability: doesn't get any better than this. A solid amber that is tasty, not overly malty, and is what I define a session beer to be. Great beer here.

Handsome coppery amber in the Ciney tulip with a renewing veil of foam. Sprightly on the tongue. Slight aromas of light grain.

They call this a Stock Ale. Interesting woody and musty sort of taste. Fruity English hop flavor. Something like brandied walnuts with a hint of pecans and some nutshell bitterness. Rather malty and a little sweet with caramel taste, but the bitterness creeps boldly into the mid-taste and stays to the end. How about bitter cookie dough?

This is not one of my favorites from Big Time, which makes plenty of decent brews. If it was less strong and more of a quaffable English style, it would be more useful. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at the brewpub in Seattle.

Had a pint of this on tap at the Alehouse.

Appearance: hazy amber red hue with a finger of frothy ivory foam. Quite decent.

Smell: nice crystal malt aroma with some citrusy hops. Decent but rather mild and not very complex.

Taste: nutty and malty, rich with crystal malt character. Basic, but well crafted and quite tasty.

Mouthfeel: medium light body with a solid carbonation and a good creaminess for the style. I like it.

Overall: not exactly perfect but an eminently drinkable amber that I like more than most American ambers.

A deep garnet ale with a retained beige head and silken, cask-conditioned texture. The light malt-fruit flavor is restrained, though what's there works well, especially towards the finish where a nice play of spiced hop flavor emerges. A modest, yet agreeable ale with a light touch of caramel.
