Had from cask at the brewery in Seattle.

Pours a fresh, clear golden colour, very light weight, with a frothy, cracky and undeniably "casky" head of white. This leaves some patchy suds as it crackles and casks its way out of existence.

Bright mild fruit on the palate, giving perhaps a touch of mango, and stonefruit, with some peppery notes cutting through. Overall, it's pretty mild, but it's not unpleasant.

Light entry before more of that slightly sweet, slightly tropical fruit flavour mid-palate. Some mild, neutral grain comes through as well. On the finish we get a hint of metallic bite to add some sharpness, but everything has been smoothed and blunted.

Feel is great from the cask. Adds another layer of smoothness that it wouldn't have otherwise had.

Overall, a very decent drop. Smooth and light and very easy to drink. I probably like it more than these scores would indicate—it's a super drinkable beer that I'd love to have more regularly.

Poured from my kegerator this beer is bliss! Slight creamy head, slight sweet taste, the right amount of hop taste. It is so good I could drink it all day. Very dangerous.
It is the only beer I put in my kegerator anymore. I clean the pipes after every 1/2 barrel and it makes all the difference. There is no comparison between this and the bottle version. On tap is the best.

12 FL OZ. bottle into cone pint glass.

A - Pours semi-cloudy golden, with a nice white head...- some good lacing.

S - Hops and lots of sweet citrus - some orange & grapefruit tones...

T - Smooth & Bright! A great hop kick at the top, followed by some citrus, then ending with a bit of pine-like spices...Pleasant & refreshing!!

M - Great carbonation! There's a good fullness. Present, but not 'too' much fruity/sweet flavors...The final pine/spice balances the beer out wonderfully!

O - This one is great!! I think what make this beer so good is the fine line of not over-doing 'it' in any particular area (hops, fruity-flavor, pine/spice, carbonation, and last but not least, alcohol level). VERY refreshing and will get again and...…Goin’ to look for a tap ASAP!!!

Cold 12oz bottled served in tapered pint glass. Beer pours cloudy orange amber with a medium thick white head. Subtle dry-hop aroma: citrusy, even piney.

Flavor profile is long and involved: first sharp and fizzy, then grapefruity hops, followed by a faintly toasty malt flavor (not sweet at all), and finally another layer of bitterness, and nothing but a dry aftertaste.

Not thick, not heavy, nothing more than a respectable West coast pale ale.

Poured from 12oz bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: pale orange with a touch of haze and very little effervescence. Head is one finger of frothy ivory foam with moderate retention. It's pretty bog-standard, but decent.

Smell: citrusy, very slightly funky hop aroma; it's got a good bite to it. Pale malt backbone provides a little sweetness to support the hops. Again, pretty normal for a pale ale, but well executed.

Taste: bitter hops right up front followed quickly by the bready, biscuity pale malt flavor. This fades into a longer-lasting bitterness which takes the edge right off the sweetness. A tasty, middle-of-the-road pale ale that is pretty fulfilling, flavor-wise.

Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a moderate level of carbonation. I can coax a little creaminess out of this, but it's not creamy by nature. Not bad, though.

Drinkability: there's enough bite in this beer to keep me coming back; it's refreshing and, while not anything special, is a beer I'm really enjoying.

Had a pint while at the Two - Seven Public House & Restaurant in Spokane.
Clear orangish color, golden hilights, bright white head. Long lasting and good looking foam. Nice smell of malt sweetness and citrus hops. Taste had a great mix between caramel malt, and grapefruit/orange citrus fruit. Medium body and mouthfeel, crisp an dry finish. Easy to drink, smooth and flavorful, great with a meal or on its own. Everything you want from an APA.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with riversdeAK (thanks!).

Poured a medium and hazy golden color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of floral hps, grassy, toasty, and some citrus. Tastes of toasted caramel, lighter floral hops, and citrus.

Notes from and tasted on: 3/9/09

Great color and perfect for an APA, would have liked some more head on the beer though.

Not quite as hoppy as I would have liked, a hint of some citrus hops but not quite enough.

wow, a lot hoppier than the smell, Pretty bitter and probably to much bittering hops compared to the rest of the beer. Still tastes great though.

Good mouth feel with a great body to it, could have been a tad bit lighter in body to be perfect.

Overall a good APA but not the best, would definitely give it a try if you were in the mood for a bitter pale.

A great little example of a Pale Ale here. Poured from a 12oz bottle. Poured a nice golden orange, with a decent amount of head (admittedly I had to fight toward the end of the pour to get any). Lacing was decent the whole way down

Smelled of a sweet malt, with a hoppy background.

Tasted like it smelled, a nice blend of Hops and malt, some citrusy-pine mixed with the warmness of malt.

Medium mouthfeel, little residue on the tongue afterward.

Good example of an APA
