Poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a ruddy red color with a small cap of a little white semi-foamy head swiftly dieing off. Slight lace ran here and there.
The aroma had sweet red cherries, clean caramel malts, toffee, figs, cloves, sweet grains, sweet oak and dried vanilla wafers. Subtle hop spice further on the back end.
The flavor yields towards the sweet malty side of blending the entire aromas together. Deep malty aftertaste running the gamut on the caramel and toffee malts.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a proper sessionability about it. Good carbonation and ABV. Malty finish with a light dose of cloves.
Overall, pretty nice as a winter warmer, I'd have again.

Pike calls this a "Hoppy Holiday Ale", and that's spot-on. You get pretty much a standard winter warmer, malty, slightly spicy, and a bit of caramel, together with a real shot of hops. Not citrusy, juicy hops, not something with the bitterness missing, but a real honest-to-goodness blast of classic bitterness. Not a great beer, but pretty good, and give it points for hitting its description on the nose.

Pours beer bottle brown with a nice, but brief bubble show. The head is tall and sudsy, lacing the glass nicely as you drink. Aroma is what you'd expect from a holiday brew but faint, winter spices and malt, hop scents are barely detectable. Taste is a little funky, like drinking pumpkin spice without the pumpkin. I think I might even call it gross. This is going to be a tough one to get down, since I'm not a big pumpkin mocha guy. Mouthfeel is nice, I just wish the flavor was more pleasant. It's a nice brew as far as color and texture go, but man...this taste is definitely not for me.

Review from notes
Appearance: red orange, nice lacing, one inch head
Nose: dried fruit, malty with a spicy hop character
Taste: mellow, dried fruits, hop bitterness, complex and malty sweetness
More of a spice character than a hop one. Very nice.

Pours a half finger of head on a dirty dark straw body.
The aroma is grain and wet hay, a little barnyard.
The taste is mildly sweet: plum and apricot; then some mild bitterness. A bit mushed in flavor.
The texture is softer.
