Bought 22 oz. bomber at Total Wine in Claymont DE.
Poured into a tall beer mug.
Very minimal head, maybe 1-2 cm. so no lacing to speak of that was easily noticeable.
Once poured, immediately noticed the pine hops aroma mixed with a citrus and raisin scent, and a honey/clove smell as well.
Caramel color and the malt body seems evident in my opinion.
Like some reviews said, the malt has a sweetness to it which is uncharacteristic to most DIPA's that I have had. I wouldn't say it's unpleasant, just very uncharacteristic.
Thin mouthfeel without a significant carbonation.
I will say the 8% ABV is excellent and untraceable to me.
It does go down smooth, but I am not a huge fan of that sweetness.
While the hops are evident and help preserve the dry nature, the sweet nature deduct a few points from the overall DIPA that I've grown to know and love.
I'd recommend giving it a try at the price point, but don't expect to be blown away.
