Poured from 22oz bottle into a tulip glass.

Appearance: Pours pitch black with a half finger of mocha colored foam that settles down quickly.

Smell: Roasted malt, roasted coffee, dark chocolate.

Taste: Dark chocolate, coffee and roasted malt.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied and creamy.

Drinkability: Overall a pretty decent deal (I think I paid $3.99 for this at Total Wine) for an decent beer. Nothing Earth-shattering, but really solid.

Pours a midnight black color with a full, chocolaty colored head. Head falls to a thin one leaving a nice layer of lace on the glass.

Aroma is of chocolate and burnt malts. Also smells a bit metallic.

Full chocolate malt taste quickly followed by a roasted coffee flavor and ending with a lingering bitterness part from the coffee and part from the hops.

Mouthfeel is full and very smooth, almost velvety. Not much of a bite and it coats your mouth.

Rather nice stout. Worth drinking.

S - Pint glass poured from the bar tap at Pike Street Brewing in Seattle, WA

A - Pours a very dark reddish brown with less than a finger light brown head that doesn't last, other than a nice rim around the glass.

S - Dark roasted malts with some really nice unsweetened chocolate notes and definitely some burnt coffee in there as well. Almost has a soy sauce characteristic to it and definitely sweet smelling overall.

T- Just like the aroma: roasted burnt malts and coffee up front and finishes with unsweetened dark chocolate. Also in the aftertaste you get hit with loads of smoke and coffee like flavors. Really surprising for a regular stout.

M- Medium bodied with moderate carbonation and a nice smooth finish.

O - Very smooth and enjoyable stout, alive with flavor.
