Pike has moved up (literally) from its original setting under the Pike Place Market to its present digs at the Market's perimeter on 1st Ave. To find it, look for the Pike sign and step inside a shopping corridor. The brewpub is one flight down and may be accessed by stairs or elevator.

Many, if not most breweries exhibit some sort of breweriana on the walls of their pub. But Pike showcases a museum-like display of more bottles, posters, and beer related materials than any brewery in the northwest. Personally, I find this display fascinating, especially the older, historic stuff. Most people go to a pub to talk; here you can walk and gawk. Touristy? Perhaps. But the place is dazzling and classy in my view, and it's quite apparent that the Finkels spent a lot of energy and cash on the collection. Enjoy it.

After absorbing the visual milieu, you may order a beer at one of three bars. Though often the main bar is the only one operating, the multi-level, slanted, stepped, and pocketed floorplan provides an odd array of seating arrangements and party schemes amid steel and copper brew kettles and an exposed atrium. Pike serves nine or so standards, mostly of Anglo-Celtic and American designs and mid- to upper quality. Their bottled beer is perhaps preferable to their draught though some seasonals are not bottled. Pike's simpler recipes with their immaculate filtration and clean lines work best, including the IPA, Naughty Nellie Golden, and the Kilt Lifter Scotch. The food menu is ambitious and laden with seafood. Service is entirely professional.

Pike's central location in the heart of downtown assures a steady influx of scenesters and party people. But the warmth and congeniality inherent to brewpub culture assures a relaxed vibe almost in spite of its cosmopolitan clime. Just be advised that although the neighborhood is as safe as in any American city, drug activity in the area is quite notorious. So keep alert.

Great place to visit whether you live or are visiting Seattle. Located in historic Pike Place Market, this brewery has a huge selection of beers and good food as well. There is also a small, but very cool beer museum. This is a must visit for fans of craft beer

Pretty touristy but I'm a tourist. Very loud and busy, lots of families with children. That said, not a relaxing place but the food and beer was great. Definitely go if you're in the area.

The first brewery of many on my trip to the Northwest and not a bad way to start out. After walking the Seattle downtown 1st street area and passing through the Pike Place fish market we needed some grub and a few beers to regain some energy - Pike Place would fill that need.

The vibe wasn't my thing but in the heavy foot traffic area probably went over well with the general pop. Tons of retro beer paraphernalia lined the walls to the point where it became distracting. It reminded me of a TGIFridays for beer - super busy.

Beer quality was great - I had a straight forward saison that blew me away and a pale ale that was decent (very classically hopped with big malt character) but fell short of my expectations. The lady had an IPA and a Porter both were nice from the few sips I took.

Service was decent, waiter took our orders quickly and was informative about the beers and food menu - he was a little slow on bringing us a second round and our bill but the place was picking up in volume so not unexpected.

The beer selection was about average - Your typical IPA / APA / porter / etc main stays with a few other beers with more interesting spins. But the food was probably the highlight for me - Not sure if it was because we were so hungry or if it was warranted but the pizza I had and the sandwich she had really hit the spot - and that spot was our stomachs.

Very good set up, service, and food. Great location. The only thing lacking is World-Class beer.

Ok place. Beer is not the best but great when you're at Pike Place Market.

This place is near and dear to me. I first visited in 1997, when craft breweries were popping up all over the Pacific Northwest. The combination of funky location, great food and interesting beer had me hooked immediately. Each of my return visits have been equally favorable. They make great burgers, but my absolute favorites are the Penn Cove Mussels or the fish and chips. For me, no visit to Seattle is complete without a stop by the Pike Pub & Brewery.
