Near Pike Market, the Pike Pub is like a Hard Rock Cafe of brewpubs--there's tons of interesting breweriana adorning the walls, but one can't help feel slightly manipulated by the commercialized nature of the place. It's located downstairs a few storefronts down from the actual Pike Place Market, and they carry all of their house beers on tap. The pub is enormous; there are several dining rooms, a large bar area, and, of course, a dry goods section that hawks lots of Pike-beer merchandise. The bar is tucked behind the t-shirts.
My friend and I sampled all of the house wares and were so thoroughly unimpressed that we left without ordering a single pint. All of the beers tasted over-attenuated (dry) and metallic. Only the Weisse Beer, their American wheat ale, was passable, but it wasn't good enough to merit a pint or schooner on its own. It may have only been passable by comparison. Their tripel and barley wines were not on tap, but the first seven beers were enough to make me pass on buying bombers.
Between the dizzying atmosphere and the mediocre beer, stay away and save yourself a headache.
