Unknown vintage; drank 12/18/15 @ the Yarchives.
Semi-opaque dull orange appearance.
HUGE bright white head (OPEN OVER A SINK!!); a curtain of frothy lace.
Banana, cider, mild caramel & faint citrus notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Apple cider & banana flavors up front; chardonnay & dry champagne yeast notes on the finish.
Some nice flavors here but the dry, yeasty finish isn't for me.

Had at Dos UrbanCantina...
Paired interestingly with three different fancy Mexican dishes. It went fine with the two milder dishes, but the spicy dish overpowered the ale. But overall, I can see why the chef selected this BPA. It is simple and its ingredients respect his food.
While this single starts with average Looks, my nose detects a gentle malt. It tastes of a gentle fruitiness and just enough hops at the end to make the beer work with the food.

Quick take: This beer tastes like a mild sour, which is a category that’s not my forte. At least the sour taste doesn’t overpower the rest of the beer, compared to other sours in its category. Whether or not it’s technically a Belgian Single, it’s quite an experience.

Pours a golden with amber center thumb sized white head falls rather quickly. some sparse lace.
Aroma is malt light wheat notes, some lighter fruit esters and some light spice from the yeast.
Taste is much like the nose malt backbone, light fruit notes , yeast seems to dominate earthy with some spice that mingles with light hop bitterness.
Mouthfeel is lighter side but with fairly peppy carbonation that seems to go with this style.
Overall eh its an ok brew not great for the style even for an American version. That being said not really bad, easy to drink just not worth having a repeat of.

12 oz can at Riverwalk in Florida.
Pours with an amber body topped by a large frothy white head that had good retention. Flavorful but restrained spicy Belgian yeast and hops.
Medium body and carbonation.

I'm a long time BA reader and years long craft brew enthusiast, just never signed up to rate - until this one. I love a good Belgian abbey ale, blonde style (not American blonde or just "blonde" color), dubbels, tripels, quads, strong ales (not just high abv but the actual style), etc, etc. This is likely the single worst beer I have ever had in my life.
Look: a little on the opaque side, dark golden color
Smell: not much aroma, just a bit wheaty
Taste: like moldy Brussels sprouts (and I like Brussels sprouts) and other vegetable waste that was thrown in the compost pile
Feel: it's ok, but almost no carbonation after the pour - too smooth, especially with the awful taste
I'd rather have a light lager than this - no taste over awful taste. If you're looking for Belgian style beers brewed in the U.S., stick with Ommegang or try a number of good farmhouse/saison styles by other breweries - Colette by Great Divide comes to mind.

Pours a hazy yellow gold with a large white head that dissipates very quickly. Smells of Belgian yeast, banana esters, pepper, and wheat. Tastes of Belgian style yeast, light wheat, fruits, and some bread. Light in body and very high in carbonation. Overall a pretty enjoyable Belgian Pale.
