Really overcarbonated. Not sure if this is intentional or not but its not a pleasant experience.

Don't really taste or smell much strawberry. It's drinkable but I'm not sure how this one any medals unless I just got a bad batch or it sat in the warehouse awhile before I got it. Tastes and mouth feel reminded me of a saison with a stronger hay aroma. It has a lot of things going on and definitely out of the norm; I can see where some people may like it.

Not usually something I would like, but this one hit the spot sitting outside on a warm summer day

Destihl Strawberry Blonde Ale has a thick, fizzy, crackly, white head, a semi-clear, bubbly, gold appearance, and some fairly heavy lacing left on the sides of the glass. The aroma is of strawberry, bitter strawberry leaves, vegetable matter, and white bread. Taste is of sweet, bitter, acidic, strawberries, white bread, and some strawberry leaves. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy, and Destihl Strawberry Blonde Ale finishes semi-dry, fruity, and decently drinkable. If you're into fruit beers (and, I'm not), you might really like it. RJT

Poured from 12oz can into a tulip.

Appearance: medium golden hue with a light shimmery haze and a thick head of white foam, which leaves a bit of chunky lace as it dissipates. Pretty attractive indeed.

Smell: a lightly cloying maltiness with a thick strawberry character right at first, followed by a much more mellow and balanced experience toward the end. Strawberry beers are famously difficult to nail down, but I feel like this is halfway decent. Not at all bad.

Taste: a light blonde ale type of beer, with a little bit of maltiness (is there a little wheat in here too?), with a dose of syrupy strawberry flavor. I honestly don't know how this beer is made, but I feel like the strawberry is a bit artificial in nature -- at least, that's how it tastes to me.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a massive carbonation -- well-hidden compared to its relatively light apparent effervescence! Right up my alley -- bam!

Overall: drinkable, but I feel like the strawberry is a bit artificial. It's hard to tell, though -- if this is a 100% natural, traditionally-fruited strawberry beer, then maybe, just maybe, I'm not a big fan of this fruit.

On tap at Brouwer's on 9.3.14

Looks like a normal blonde, but the nose is strawberry. Taste is also strawberry with an earthy finish.

Pours a clear golden color with a tight, white head that leaves little bits of lacing.

Smells of strawberries and pale malts.

Tastes of the strawberries with a decent malt base. Strawberry leads off with a bit of sweetness to it. This gives way to a bit of pale malt with some graininess. A touch of hops comes towards the end some lemongrass. Finishes with a bit of fruity sweetness.

Mouthfeel is medium-light with a crisp amount of carbonation.

Overall, this is a solid beer which accomplishes its goal of featuring strawberries. Can't say that I like it too much, but it would be worth a try if you want a fruit beer.

Pours a frothy white head. Malty aroma with strawberry throughout. Hazy, straw color. Okay, that's weird. Starts a little bit bitter with grainy hops. Malt sweetness comes in. Strawberry is present from the beginning, but really comes forward as the bitterness subsides. Finish is grainy hops, strawberry, and a touch of malt.

Actually, I'm not really a fan of this. They should dial back the hops on this one; bitter and strawberry aren't a really good pairing. A malt-centric brew with the berries would be much, much nicer.

A: poured into a fizzy yellow beer is for wussies pint glass to a cloudy pale yellow topped by a finger and a half of dense and soapy white head that retains well but leaves minimal lacing
S: smells of not a lot. really reaching for aromas with this one but there's some fruitiness with hints of strawberries and a little bit of bready malt
T: taste is fresh strawberries paired with malt sweetness. swallow is pale malt, a little strawberry and some fruitiness
M: this beer sits somewhat heavy on the palate with slightly prickly carbonation. it pulls into the mouth heavy but the carb helps lighten it up on the palate. this beer has a refreshing finish
O: Not bad, strawberry beers are hard to do and this one tastes pretty good although it's a little light on flavors

Poured into a Dogfish Head pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a one finger white head with good retention and lacing and active carbonation. Aroma of bready malt and fresh strawberries, as advertised. Flavor follows with strawberry juice in a background of bready malt with a hint of biscuit. Finishes with residual mild strawberry, biscuit malt and a slight grassy hop bitterness. Medium bodied. Interesting take on a blonde ale, the malt and strawberry flavors are almost perfectly melded, although the final combined flavor is not really noteable. Pleasant to drink and exactly what is promised from the can, a nice blonde ale with good strawberry aroma and flavors. Destihl just came into our market and I'll be giving each of their beers a try.

Pours a strawberry blonde and looks rather sexy.

I can smell the strawberries as I am pouring this, but once in the cup I get a dank fermented fruit smell with a slight hint of strawberries. Kind of smells like Red Bull, but not bad.

Well, the this doesn't taste like fresh strawberries, but like I said above, kind of like a dank fermented vat of strawberries with a tart hint of strawberries. A sweet malt finish.

Mouthfeel is highly carbonated, but rather bland.

Overall this is a decent brew for a hot summer day.

A - Orange, clear, clean. Like a german pils with a tad bit of raspberry juice.

S - Strawberry jam! With some muskiness in the background that slightly distracts.

T - Starts with the taste of strawberry preserves, not too sweet or bland, then opens into a standard American blonde. With some work on the blonde part, this could be a great fruit ale. However, there's a bitter bite that feels completely awry. Very distracting.

M - Light, bubbly, smooth.

O - Decent beer and execution. Need some work on the base beer, but the strawberry aspect is great.

Appearance: Pours with a finger of clean white head. The color is a straw yellow color with a slight tint of red. Slightly above average active carbonation for the style. Thick lacing left behind at each level.

Smell: Big front of unripe strawberries pops right away. Plenty of tartness, with a touch of sweetness. Some creamy malt character is picked up but this aroma is all about the strawberries.

Taste: Rounded strawberry sweetness hits first. A touch of tartness shows up mid body with continuing waves of well balanced sweetness. The blonde ale accents actually show up here with creamy bready malts on the back end. Finish is light sweetness.

Mouthfeel: Easy drinking, carbonation is very well done.

Overall: I have a lot of trouble getting past the aroma of under ripened strawberries but the flavor was spot on. Good summer beer.

Appears a hazy golden yellow with minimal head and no lacig. Nose feature strawberry flesh, bready grain, light grass, lemon, and cracker. Taste is light in flavor with grain up front followed by a nice wave of fresh strawberries, this is paired with a mild hop bitterness. Nice balance of flavors here with an overall refreshing quality. Mouthfeel is light and well carbonated. Nice summer beer.

Pours out an apricot color with a fingers worth of creamy white head. The head slowly settles into a frothy ring leaving spotty lacing clinging to the sides. Sweet aromas of strawberries with a light bready background. The whole strawberries added during the second fermentation really shine in the flavor profile. There is a slight tartness with no bitterness and a very light body with a clean finish. This was the perfect beer for this 100* day. Very drinkable and refreshing.

Served in a tulip glass, around a 12 oz. pour.
Listed as 4% ABV and 15 IBU.

Color is an opaque orange with tiny streams of carbonation. Rings of webby lace form around the upper cylinder section of the glass. It's visual look combined with the presentation seems very Belgian.

Fresh aroma of pale malt and a light strawberry essence in the background. Listed as using whole strawberries in the second fermentation.

The strawberry comes through more in the flavor, a light fruity note with low level tartness. It's definitely authentic, nothing too sweet or syrupy here. Medium bodied, deceptively light, in that it feels modeled after a Belgian ale without the high alcohol. Substantial body yet still easily drinkable.
