On tap at the grand opening party
Appearance: Pours a clear/bright light golden color with a finger of fluffy white head. Retention is good, lacing is excellent.
Smell: Very refreshing-rye aroma mixed with a light to moderate graininess and an earthy, lightly floral hop aroma. Bright, well balanced, I wouldn't change a thing.
Taste: The Rye comes out a little stronger in the flavor, along with a light fruity sweetness. Hops come across as quite spicy with a light floral accent.
Mouthfeel: Medium thickness with a fairly strong carbonation.
Overall: The aroma on this beer is remarkable. Balanced, complex, refreshing - everything I want in a Kolsch. The flavor is a touch Rye heavy without quite the same brightness I got in the aroma, but it is still excellent. I love this beer. I hope IronSight has plans to put this beer on a regular rotation or make it one of their staples.
