A very clear amber hued lager is sitting in my pint glass. Decent level of carbonation, yet only managed a half finger of off white head that quickly faded to a very thin collar that leaves no lacings.
Sweet bready malts with some caramel, a hint of cooked corn and some grassy hops.
This is Autumnal Fire light. Thats not bad thing, its just that i already feel well acquainted with this beer despite this being my first taste. Its slightly toasty and bready with a big dose of honey like malt sweetness. Finishes in a relatively clean hop bitterness that doesnt provide much more flavour but has some grassy qualities.
Medium bodied and on the sweet side. Sweeter malts balanced by clean bittering hops but it would be nice if there was some more substantial hop flavours present as well. Smooth and somewhat creamy in feel, and there is a slight warming from the alcohol.
Im disappointed in this brew. While well made its not particularly inspired. Drinkable enough, but with its big body and pronounced sweetness, as well as alcohol content this would not be session fare. A good enough beer, just not particlarly exciting. Recommended for fans of the style, hopefully it does more for you than it did for me.

On-tap at Panther's Pub in Greendale, WI:
Pours clear amber with a thin, lasting creamy head that leaves plenty of lacing.
The smell is mild, but there is some toasted malt that is inviting enough.
The taste is of toasted sweet caramelized bread with an earthy, subdued fruity bitter-ish balance in the warming finish.
It is creamy smooth. Carbonation level fits it very well.
This is an excellent example of the style. Sweet leaning, malty, but with balance, toasty, mildly warming and easily drinkable. A great spring offering!
