12 oz. bottle into a pils glass
Pours a clear burnt orange color with a one inch off-white head. It falls to a thin head but it retains well and also leaves a nice lace on the glass.
Aroma is mostly of spicy and herbal hops but there is also a slight malt sweetness and a bit of a nuttiness.
Taste has a malty sweetness up front followed by some herbal hops with some spiciness coming in towards the finish.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, very creamy and smooth going down. Clean bitterness in the finish leaves a nice tingle in the mouth.
I haven't had too many Maibocks but this is definitely one of the better ones that I have had. Everything I've had from Capital is solid and this is no exception.

On-tap at Panther's Pub in Greendale, WI:
Pours clear amber with a thin, lasting creamy head that leaves plenty of lacing.
The smell is mild, but there is some toasted malt that is inviting enough.
The taste is of toasted sweet caramelized bread with an earthy, subdued fruity bitter-ish balance in the warming finish.
It is creamy smooth. Carbonation level fits it very well.
This is an excellent example of the style. Sweet leaning, malty, but with balance, toasty, mildly warming and easily drinkable. A great spring offering!
