look: 3.5 | smell: 4 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4

Appearance: light orange in color with a transparent body. Finger of head which settled in and lingered lightly which drinking. Low active carbonation.

Smell: sweet toffee and caramel jump on the front. Clean profile of grass and some tropical fruit hops shine on the body. Fresh baked bread lingers thoughout. Sweetness of hops and malts shine on the finish.

Taste: touches of caramel on the front get replaced by a balanced hop body pretty quickly. Amber malts shine on the body with some bready notes as well. Finish is clean leaving you grabbing for more.

Mouthfeel: crazy drinkable especially for a decently high abv. Carbonation is lower but fits so well.

Overall: by far the best beer I've had from Capital. Well balanced, highly drinkable, fantastic offering.

Fresh bread on the nose. Pours brilliant copper tinted gold under a ½” dense white head. Rich malt and well developed melanoidins give it full flavors. Full body and medium carbonation.

On tap at Capital Brewery. Poured into a plastic cup 9/2/2014.

A- Slightly hazy, darker orange body with a one finger white head that disappears quickly. Not much lacing. [3]

S- Sweet candied sugar, noble hops, yeast, a bit of brown sugar and bread. [3]

F- As in the nose, tastes sweet but it is more of a buttery caramel flavour. Really just not my thing. Also some spices, yeast and bread. [2]

M- Medium bodied, but far too sweet for me to drink much of. Good carbonation. [2.5]

O- I don't mind most maibocks, but this one was far too sweet and a bit too buttery for me. [2.5]

Final score: 2.40
