Pours a deep, reddish amber brew into a Berghoff tumbler leaving almost no head of macro looking foam. Thin and disappointing.

Sweet malts, some spice, and fall fruits apple/pear make up the aroma.

Pretty mild with a quick bitterness that overwhelms the sweet malts. There is some brown sugar and a bit of caramel in here.

Feels creamy and smooth enough my second pint brings the odd sensation that it’s going to cause stomach problems later.

It’s easy to drink but it might not be a good idea to drink too much.

Had this tapped for me at the Wisconsin State Fair. Very Dark amber, with full head.Carmelly thicker first taste, left a carmel sweet taste on the tongue.2nd and 3rd sips a roasted malt and molasses taste sneaks in, not boldly but distinctly. Left a cotton candy taste in my mouth when I was done

I've been drinking for a while, but I just turned 21 recently and decided to get a "Pick a 6" pack to try some new things, and one of them was this beer.

A: From the bottle to a glass, the head quickly dissipated, but it has a nice amber color.

S: Like apple and caramel. Really very nice.

T: Really good, actually. Nuances of apple and caramel, very nice for the season.

M & D: Not very carbonated (usually I like that), but smooth and easy to drink. I could see putting a few of these back and not feeling too full.

Overall, after trying the wheat beer from Capitol Brewery (didn't like it), I'm very impressed and would drink again. Might even stop by the brewery (at UW now, the brewery is a short drive away!)

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into pint glass.

Appearance: Clear amber-orange with some frothy head at first but falls back too quickly.

Smell: Toast, caramel, cherry and metallic hops.

Taste: Nice complex malts with biscuit, caramel and cherry interwoven together. Has a nice spicy hoppiness as counterbalance, which continues long after each sip.

Feel: Moderately high carbonation, medium body, crisp and dry finish. Great feel for a Marzen.

Drinkability: One of the better Marzens out there, although style wise it leans a little closer to a bitter Vienna. More than solid Autumn brew.

Clear bright orange color, good creamy head of 1/4 inch. Toasty aroma, a little brown sugar. Nice match for style, nice dominant caramel malt flavor with a hoppy clove bite peppered in. Good elements of toast. A little better mouthfeel than some. Very drinkable, open a couple and pour 'em in a big ass stein and quaff in honor of the harvest. A good kick off for Fest season for me (I'm not counting the bomber of Lagunitas)...

(Served in a glass dimple mug)

A- This beer has a crystal clear amber body with a good carbonation supporting a thin film of off-white head that soon pulls to a ring of foam.

S- The smell of light dry caramel malt has a nice fresh malt quality about it followed by a soft pine hop hint at the finish.

T- The dry lightly toasted malt flavor has some Munich malt notes with a soft twang to follow. There is a light nougat hint then a slightly sulfury noble hop finish. The sulfur note lingers for just a moment.

M- There is a medium-light mouthfeel with a crisp texture to this beer.

D- This beer has some nice malt flavors with a few off notes like the twang hint and the nougat that both start to grow as the beer warms a bit.

Picked up on a trip through Wisconsin about a month ago. Poured a good head of about 2 fingers. Lasted over 2 minutes. Clear amber coloring. Very slight lacing.

Slight malt and hop aroma.

Hops seemed to come through more than the toasted malt. Worked very well together.

Good mouthfeel as the taste was not prolonged but did last comfortably enough.

Would welcome the opportunity to drink these at a 'fest' activity but sadly not available in our area.

Amber colored, leaning towards orange. Crystal clear with steady moderate carbonation. Thin white head recedes to virtually nothing.
Toasty and sweet malt aromas. Hops are noticed, but just faintly.
Toasted malts make themselves known off the bat, then begin to mingle with sweet, fruity malt tones. Good amount of toffee. A swift kick of spicy hops pollishes this one off.
A firm medium bodied brew. Gets a little sticky and syrupy at times, but generally full and crisp.
A pretty solid Oktoberfest all around.

A - Orange-bronze with a small gray cap. Sporadic spotty lace is barely there. This one is crystal clear, and I like the color...but the head is definitely lacking.

S - Underpowered hints of carrot cake and cinnamon. Pleasant, but pretty solidly average. This has potential...it's just too weak on the nose.

T - Nice clean biscuit and carrot cake malt flavors with tons of caramel and toffee too. Impressive given the so-so appearance and uninspired nose.

M - Fresh, malty, and extremely clean. This is neutral and unoffensive in all ways. Finishes clean as a whistle, which many non beer geeks might appreciate, but I prefer an aftertaste that sticks to your teeth and lingers on for days.

D - I like a little more stank on my beers, but this is a serviceable average O-Fest that I can imagine is very popular for the casual beer drinker. I might introduce my Bud Light loving dad and brother to this easy going brew. Nothing about this one is bad...it's just underpowered and a bit boring, to be honest.

A slightly hazy, but distinctly orange body is topped by a full head of frothy off-white foam that holds very well and leaves rings of cragged, sticky lace. The delicate nose offers some nice, subtly sweet toasted malt. It's full and dextrinous in the mouth with a fine, median carbonation that's crisp on the tongue. The flavor delivers a solid hop punch of bitterness amidst its lightly caramelish and toasted malt; and some background floral and spicy hops appear in the dry finish. A nicely done festbier that delivers a bit of hops as well as malt!

12oz bottle into standard pint glass. best by date: 12.15.10 - cutting it close with this one, but it per se brewer, it should still be good.
A: Pours a hazy golden orange body, very classic body appearance, with a nice thin white layer of white head on the top, holds for a short time. Carbonation is very lively and lacing is left in a very minimal quantities.
S: Very bland rendition of the classic Marzen aroma. A bit of a bready, barley notes.
T/M: The front is a semi-medium body that has a dry biscuit tone to it. The mouthfeel is a cream feel, but still falls short and is a bit thin and watery on the finish.
D: This was a nice one to try among the many Marzens this season, but nothing that I would get in larger quantities than a single brew.
