12 ounce bottle poured into a shaker pint. Hazy medium copperish with a very small bubbly off-white head that quickly dissipates with minimal lacing.

Yikes. Aroma is sickly sweet. Honey, toffee, and caramel. Slight bready malts and a touch of green apple hinting at acetaldehyde.

Not quite as cloying as the aroma would let on, but still very, very sweet. Very sugary with a slightly bitter lightly toasted taste. Minimal earthy hops flavor if you really look hard for it.

Light/medium-bodied and moderately carbonated.

Pretty bad. Avoid.

"179 13" printed on the bottom of the bottle, unsure if that's a bottled date or not.
Would be June if so, and that seems questionable for an Oktoberfest, unless it's year round. Just showed up here, wonder if the distributor is passing off last years.

Orange amber, bright clarity, lasting layer of parchment colored foam on the surface. No lacing, it was a rinsed glass. Coverage and retention are good.

Aroma is sweet with a cooked grain smell. Mushy applesauce as it warms.

Taste is mealy and gross. Limp feel with some papery wet cardboard and flaccid waterlogged grains. Telltale off flavor of DMS, cooked vegetables. Aftertaste of some toasted malt, but it doesn't redeem the harsh unpleasantness of this beer. Waste of time, avoid this drainpour...

Starting to see more O-Fests popping up on menus, so I might as well dive right in.

A. Pours a mellow brass with a small white head.

S. Dry toasted grain, a bit of caramel sweetness and some mild rindish hoppiness.

T. Caramelized grain, nutty, light leafy/citric hoppy note, bready and dry in the finish.

M. Light-bodied with some heft from the carbonation.

O. An enjoyable American marzen; nothing spectacular, but dry enough with some good hop/malt balance to warrant praise.

Appearance is a rustic ruby red color that is clear with a white head that fades fast.
Smell is of a nice caramel malt with some dark fruit and some nuttiness I would guess from using Ayinger Lager yeast. Bready malt with some grassy earthy hop.
Taste- Sweet malt with a bite of earthy spicy hops to balance it out. A light nuttiness with a good amount of bread and cracker. Finishes dry with a light spice and earthy note.
