A full bodied beer with a warm amber hue showing off its rich malt heritage. Mildly bittered featuring a hop presence that compliments and rounds out the malt overtones.

Not to quibble, but this is a Vienna to me and to the brewer. But, whatever. I don't drink enough lagers to sound expert. For that reason, I don't drink enough from Capital... although I enjoy their brews almost every time. They also are a totally cool micro and I explain why in other reviews. .. hence my high Overall Hugs.

Skal Looks a nice amber, Smells mostly of malts (a bit undistinguished), Tastes balanced with a nice lingering use of hops in almost a semi-dry finish. It is medium in my mouth. And it washed down Asian food for lunch, so is versatile. And worth having again.

Pours out of the bottle a crystal clear dark amber with a fizzy head that dissipates within 30 seconds. Lazy bubbles running up the side of the glass. Smells of bready malts and possibly some citrus. Taste follows suit with some great malt notes and robust but easy to drink. Excellently carbonated to keep the sips going.

Appearance: Pours a completely clear, rich orange color with a strong and fluffy white head. SRM of 12. (4.00)

Aroma: Strong and bready aromas of rich bread, caramel, citrus, and some caramel sweetness underneath. (3.75)

Flavor: Strong and bready flavors of rich bread, some orange citrus, munich malt. Finishes with smooth caramel. (4.00)

Feel: Medium to heavier bodied, moderate carbonation and a soft, smooth finish. (3.75)

Compared to Capital Oktoberfest 12/2022: Pours similar, similar aromas. Slightly more bready and rich malt flavors. Less earthy and floral hoppy notes. Slightly maltier, but similar.

Compared to Bent Tuba Titletown 12/2022: Pours similar, milder aromas. More rich bread, orange, and malty flavors. Less toasted malt and baked caramel.

Overall: A rich and bready lager here. Rich bread, orange citrus, with some Munich malt flavors. Very much like a Marzen or Festbier more than a Vienna lager and drinks very similar to their Oktoberfest side to side. Slightly more malty. I think this one drinks more like a fall than winter lager as others have mentioned. Maybe a season too late, but still good flavor here. (Rating: 3.92)

I didn't pick up a lot of scent after popping the top. It poured a transparent amber and generated a 3-finger, slightly off-white head... which lasted a good couple minutes. In the glass, there's definite citrus coming off, maybe some honey and apricot, too. Decently citrusy, but very smooth - almost creamy - with a hint of bitterness at the end. I didn't know what to expect, and this is a pleasant surprise.... more than some over-hopped beverage and having an unexpected body too it. Slight, but that works for me.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Pours red amber with a fluffy off white head. Smells of caramelized grain with sweet candy-like notes, very fresh and inviting. Tastes of sweet caramelized grain, almost too sweet, with some nutty notes. Beer is light/medium bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

It reminded me more of a english brown ale with a little bit more of a hop bite and it's less sweet. It's a little flat offering a one note nutty/grainy flavor and unremarkable finish. I expected more, overall not bad, but I'm disappointed. It doesn't have enough bite or depth for the coldest times of year, which is what I tend to look for in a winter seasonal.
