Purchased a gift 5-pack with very neat glass at Gausler's getranktmarkt in Sulzbach-Rosenburg.

A- Cloudy, near orange tinted Gold with a three finger head that fit nicely in the tulip shaped Turm weisse glass. Course bubbles and not much retention though, very subtle patchy lacing.

S- Yeast dominates then followed by earthiness and spices.

T- Light breaded malts, with earthy undertones and clove. Mellows out to a nice bitterness.

M- Medium bodied, mild carbonation.

D- My wife actually purchased it for the clever packaging and the artwork on the glass; the marketing really doesn't do this beer justice, once I tried it I couldn't stop putting it down, this is a very good hefeweizen.

.5L, Germany.

Hazy straw-orange, though the obligatory Hefe swirl clouds things up nicely. Thick, creamy head, decent retention.

Aroma has a mellow clove-spice profile, along with overripe fruit.

Flavor is very well-balanced. Nice mix of sweet, ripe fruit and tart wheat flavors, the latter of which many Hefeweizens seem to lack. Typical banana flavor is not over-the-top. Warm spices come through on the mid-palate and finish, which was quite smooth and clean for a Hefe. The mouthfeel is full, creamy and almost gummy, in a way. Very nice in a world of watered down Hefes.

All in all, this is an outstanding wheat beer. Very well-made and enjoyable.

Laxing out in the 'Zebo today, perhaps one of the last warm days in New England this Fall... Opted to start my quaffing with this gift, bottle 2 of 3, from jamesw, given to me while in Munich last month...

Best before date on the label of APR11... Poured into an Oberdorfer Weissbier glass, it was a cloudy, orangey-golden color. A fluffy, mousse-like off-white head sat at about 1.5" for a spell before very slowly ebbing back. Excellent lacing was left behind; a fine looking brew!!! Aroma? A lovely dose of clove hits the air, combined with a slightly less pungent bit of banana. Quite inviting! Medium-bodied, Turm has light airiness with some prickle. Still solid, though.

Dry and crisp on the palate, light malty sweetness arrives first at your door. A splendid clove/banana combo with a touch of bubblegum phenols then makes itself known. It is wonderful! Mmmm!! Very refreshing, especially as the banana lingers... Quite drinkable; a well-made Hefeweizen! Thnx Iain!!

Prosit!!
