Notes & Commercial Description:
Beer added by: Bierman9 on 09-18-2001

This beer is 6.2% when released in Europe, US labels say 6.9% due to labeling laws.

Many agree that the somewhat unpractical addition of this sometimes undesired yeast strain is what grants Orval its age worthiness, not to mention unique aroma, making it a one of the few beers worth cellaring.

This is a really good beer. The color is dark for a blond one ad the carbonation fits really well with the content. Even if they add sugar on this one, it's very balanced and the mouthfeel is really enjoyable. There are some notes of Orge.

If you like it, I suggest You to try St-Rieul Triple which is really enjoyable too!

I had an aged, three-year old version of this and it was so complex and delicious. Very smooth and yeasty. Earthy. A hint of tart.
