Dry, tart, and funky farmhouse ale. Fermented in red wine barrels with a melange of yeast and bacteria.

25.4 oz. bottle poured into tulip
(batch #3, bottled on 12/18/2015)
L: clear light gold, good activity in the glass; pushes up over 1-inch head of white foam that dissipates quickly; not much sticking or lacing but the beer keeps a thick collar of offwhite foam; the clarity is stunning
S: hay, wet hay, lemon peel, fingernail polish and some sweet lemon candy; sour lemon is the lead note
T: very sour and earthy first sip, mouth-puckering lemon; the palate quickly adjusts and allows for a bunch of sugary sweetness in, mixing well with the sour/earthy flavor; medicinal cough syrup, especially in the aftertaste; some grain
F: fantastic ... light but crisp and relatively full from the carbonation
O: very good brew with a nice mix of sour, earthy and sweet notes in both the nose and flavor; it gets a bit too much like cough syrup at times, but other than that, it's a tasty beer I will revisit
SECOND BOTTLE NOTE: finished one about a month after the first (Oct. 9, 2016), and it was noticeably better. Not sure if the extra month in the bottle helped it, but it was a bit sweeter with no medicinal flavors at all. Good enough that I'll buy it again.

Tons of funk, just the right amount of tart, some citrus and brett making this saison complex and delicious. Very intrigued to see what Oddwood does now they are split from Adelberts because frankly I believe Oddwood is doing the most interesting and best beer in texas outside of Jester King. This saison is on the level of many of the Hill Farmstead saisons and reminds me of Anna in many ways.

Golden orange in color. The off-white froth disappears quickly, leaving practically nothing behind. A panoply of soured light fruits and damp hay to the nose. Dry, tart and all over the place with a panoply light fruits and spice competing with the tartness and unwelcome phenols. Uninspiring and almost off-putting. Guess I just don't see it.
