This beer was recommended to me by the great folks at Freemans in OKC. Brought it home back to OH. Unfortunately, upon opening, it was a bit of a gusher. Hard to rate from that point on. Might have to try again.

Bought on a whim in central Arkansas, just trying to find some new beers. Pour is golden/straw colored with a nice white pillowy head, which stayed under control unlike a lot of others that shoot for the top of the glass as fast as possible. I could smell some funk as I poured which usually delights me.
Smell is clean fruity funk, flavor follows suit. Maybe a little tartness in there, but just the right balance of fruitiness, funk, and tartness. Super clean finish. Carb hits on the front and smooths out at the end, Hard not to down the bottle too quickly.
I haven't felt the need to review a beer in a while but this one forced me to. May have to go back and get another. Possibly my favorite farmhouse including a lot of the "big dogs". Well done!

From a bottle into a tulip. A touch of brett but not too funky...clean and easy, with some fruity phenols and a medium body. This wasn't bad, but not as good as the Phrasing I had from them.

Disclaimer: I'm not usually a fan of the Belgian and sourish family of beers, so take my review with a grain of salt. Pours a lovely light orange hue, slightly cloudy, and very little head or lacing. Complex smell with both the apricot and Chardonnay coming through along with some of the tartness of the yeast. The taste has all of that and more: oak, citrus, and quite tart without being overwhelming. Not my normal fare and definitely not something I would drink more than one of, but quite well done.

Pours a hazed bronze with a thumb of eggshell white head.
S: Yeasty, grassy, pears, sourness
T: Follows the nose, some white grape & lemon up front. Grapefruit pith, Brett sourness, & pear & peach as this warms. Stays hazed throughout near zero head retention & even less lacing. Finishes sour with some grapefruit & bitter lemon & some pronounced dryness
MF: Medium body, lively carbonation
Drinks pretty easy, I was a little slowed down but I just think I'm a little sleepy tonight. Solid, they won't put Prairie out of business, but a pretty nice first foray into the Brett world

I was really surprised by this one. I am not a major fan of this style, but this is one of the best examples I have had of this type of beer. Lots of good funk with good tart balance from the brett.

On tap at Oak & Oar OKC. Pours a cloudy light orange with two fingers of creamy white head. The aroma is primarily citrus with lots of orange and lemon. There is some bubblegum and Belgian esters that work their way to the nose. The lemon takes over on the tongue, but orange is still there. Not a lot of funk; just a touch. Slightly tart. Medium mouth, but not as crisp as I would have expected from the carbonation. This is yet another solid offering from Elk Valley. It's a little too juicy to be a traditional saison, but it's definitely worth investigating.
