An American Pale Ale generously hopped with Citra, Centennial, and Simcoe hops for fresh citrus flavors with mild earthy pine notes. Charlatan’s malt backbone combines with the smooth bitterness of the hops resulting in a balanced Pale Ale with a grapefruit aroma.

This beer pours a hazy copper color with a creamy head of light tan. The nose is full green citrus hops with some green cinnamon qualities to the hops in the finish. The taste follows the nose, but grows more full. The soft green hop bite has some soft unripe tropical fruit character and a soft hop spice flavor in the finish. The hop flavor is full but there is no hop bitterness in the finish. There is a soft toast malt note that comes through as the beer opens up and some fresh pale malt character to it aswell. There is a gentle fizz to the medium-light mouthfeel and this has a lot of nice depth and character to a well build beer. This is a nice session beer.

Canned 12/19/22; drank 3/5/23 @ the Yarchives.
See-through dull yellow appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice, noisy white head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lace.
Watermelon Jolly Rancher & dry wheat notes in the nose.
Sticky medium mouthfeel.
Watermelon Jolly Rancher flavors, with hints of dry wheat & booze heat as it warms up.
Borderline unpleasant, at least to this unrefined palate, as it tastes like a sweet, sticky candy. Not my jam.

Zesty and tasty flavors of citrus and grapefruit with a light malt background. Bitter but still drinkable. I found it rather uninteresting but solid.

Tall boy can lists 08/03/20 (sampled 03/16/21), Grain: 2-row, Light Munich, Dextrin, Caramalt, White Wheat; Hops: Citra, Simcoe, Centennial, Warrior; Vitals: Pale Ale, 35 IBUs, 7 SRM, 6.3% abv., 1 Pint; and some tasting blurbs: Fresh Citrus Notes, Aromatic, Clean. Full points for can info. Hand carried from Ill. (Thanks Cass!)
Appearance: Very hazy orange gold glass glows with back light, holds a full cover of tight white head that laces.
Aroma: Citric fruit, tangerine peel, little mango, light pine, slightly musty grain base.
Taste: Lemon peel bitterness, pine and earthy hop notes, very hop forward, I don't think the base is holding it all up, a little light on the body, but a lot of yummy hop flavors going on. A little mineral taste deep in the finish, a light tonic water.
Mouthfeel: Gritty, Medium body, medium light carbonation, light dry finish.
Overall: Tasty APA, big hops, moderate abv, a little heavy for a lawn mower, a little light for an IPA, clean with no obvious flaws. Neat beer.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours straw orange with a fluffy white head. Smells of sweet malt and citrus. Tastes of citrus hops with a clean grain profile. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

Pours slightly hazy and very bright. Great aroma of grapefruit. Very approachable mouthfeel, not too sweet or too dry. The finish left a little to be desired, though. Wish it had a little more full mouthfeel or a dry crisp finish.

Pours a standard slightly hazy gold with a fluffy white head. It smells very much like grapefruits up front and has slight hints of pine on the finish. The taste is dominated by grapefruit and citrus with a satisfying piney resin bitter finish to keep it from being too sweet. It goes down smoothly. Overall an exceptional pale ale.

Pours light to medium golden amber with a half finger white head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus and lightly dank hops, lemon and grapefruit, mild mixed tropical fruit. Flavor is pale malt with a little caramel, citrus and lightly piney hops, orange, lemon, pine, very light mixed tropical fruit. Nice piney and slightly dank hop finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A pleasant, somewhat understated pale ale with good Citra and Simcoe character. Flavor starts off soft, but herbal hop flavors and bitterness build into a satisfying piney and citrus rind finish with good bitterness. Pale ales seem less common these days, but happy to get one with a great hop bill and solid pale ale malt base. Enjoyable.
