Had this one tap at a great beer bar in Montreal called Vices Et Vesca. The beer itself was pretty good. Nice lacing, retention and a dark amber color.

Smells of light floral (English?) hops, sweet malt and a faint fruitiness.

Tastes of mild hop bitterness (not enough for my liking), more malt taste than anything. Not bad but there were better beers to fill my mug with.

12oz bottle from a L'Alchimiste sampler 12-pack (thanks Dad). Sampled on a sultry June evening. Pours a dark gold with decent head. Medium aroma of malts - just a hint of hops. The flavour follows similarly - more malty than hoppy. Not hoppy, even by English IPA standards. Though it's still decent stuff.

very limpid beer, with a shy golden amber in colour, very carbonated, with no head at all.

when I opened the bottle a strong cereal smell came out. smell is of shy hops with a shy caramel flavours.

taste is buttery, and the touch in mouth is watery, butterscotch flavours followed by this water take.

Either a bad bottle or it is a version of Alexander Keith's IPA

Poured from 12-oz. bottle on 6/6/08. Thanks to Deuane for sharing.

A - Clear golden/amber body with one-finger off-white head and plenty of active carbonation.

S - Floral and perfumy hop aroma with a tinge of citrus fruit and sweet malt.

T - Similar to the aroma, the flavor combines a floral hop character and sweet malty notes. Pretty muted flavor profile, perhaps due to the age of the beer.

M - Light bodied with a thin mouthfeel that's a tad watery, but still pretty slick and smooth overall. Mild carbonation.

D - Decent IPA, perhaps a little too light on the hops. But at 5.5% ABV, it's quite an easy drinker.

Well, this is a good IPA. Although I prefer more "hoppiness" in IPA. I want more hop and malt in the taste when I drink an IPA. Hops I can taste although the last 6-pack, the taste is not great at all!!

Anyway, the head was good. The mouthfeel was good also although not my last 6-pack... Maybe they are not consistent with their beer!

A - Clear dark red, no head and little carbonation. Fades to some small lacing.
S - Slight smell of toasty malt with a touch of hops.
T - A nice soft malty center with a hefty bitterness and some floral hop scents. A nice long aftertaste of bitterness. Becomes quite dry as it warms.
M - Very nice and suitable for the style. Very refreshing.
D - Really very good. Lots of sessionability.

This IPA poured a nice amber with a medium off-white head that dissipated fairly quickly. Fruity, malty aroma, with only the faintest hint of hops. There's really not much hops at all in the malt dominated flavour, which also contains caramel and fruit. Medium bodied, and easy drinking. This was a decent beer, but by no means would I have thought it was an IPA in a blind taste test.

Thanks to chonyr for bringing this west.

A clear, amber hued, mildly carbonated ale produced a decent two finger off white head on a fairly vigorous pour. Eventually settled to a thin ring and didnt leave much for lacings.

Nice citrusy hop aroma was released from the body of this brew following the pour. It was a little harder to find once the head subsided, but aromas of orange peel, with lesser notes of earth, wood, and grass. Malty scents of toast, biscuit, and grainy malt present as well.

Decent toasty, biscuit malt backbone with a pleasing grainy character. Also some less welcome cooked corn and vegetal flavour. Mild fruity esters come through with hints of apple and pear. Then the hops show up with a bitterness level more befitting an ESB, with hints of citrus, but mostly a goldings profile of earth and wood. Some grassiness also reveals itself at the finish.

Light to medium bodied brew. Lightly hopped for the style, and the vegetal character is also out of place. Somewhat watery in feel yet dry finishing, making for a refreshing drink.

A decent ale, and quite drinkable, both in spite of and because of its faults. Would benefit from a cleaner and more bold approach, its almost more of a bitter than english styled IPA. As such this is a very approachable brew, but not of significant interest to the experienced craft beer drinker. I'd drink this again, especially in the dog days of summer, but i wont be seeking this anytime soon.

341 ml bottle.

A-Very nice orange amber colour with very good bubbles and a nice light beige head.

S- Fruity hops. Some dusty carbonation at first. Caramel malt.

T- Dissappointing wateriness up front, but this fades as the beer warms and flavours start to come through. Pleasant bitter finish. Middle includes pleasant caramel and fruity flavours.

MF- Good body, but nothing special to note here.

D- I was worries this would be too hopped, but the balance was quite nice. Good mealtime flavourful ale. I had it with a home made Indian curry, with which it paired well.

This is different from the Indian Pale. Poured out an orangey brown color with a frothy off white head that sticks to the side like super lacing glue. The nose is strong hops, grapefruit pith, pine, oregano, marjoram, and slight sweet malt. The taste seems watered down, bitter, oily hops, lacking in true body or flavor. The mouthfeel has medium body and medium cabronation. The ghastly burning bitterness keeps this from any hope of being a drinkable beer.
