Was looking for a Belgian at the Beer Store, couldn't find the usuals, Rochefort, Chimay, La Trappe, or even Leffe let alone Houblon Chouffe. Looked and smelled the part. Big and slightly out of control finely bubbled head as appropriate to the style. Taste was not what I wanted at all, compared to the beers I mentioned. Overly sweet, and lacking the fruit clove ester and phenol that I had been hoping for.

This blonde, 7% alcohol content beer, pours light gold, clear color with healthy lacing that doesn't dissipate quickly. A combination of peach, orange, caramel and yeast aroma. The taste is a balance of spice, hop married with a smoothness; light bitterness. High carbonation. Solid performing Quebec beer.

Poured cold into a Belgian tulip glass
Two finger white head fades to a white ring, golden blond clear body.
Smell of european hops.
Spices, malt sweetness, caramel and banana bread.
The carbonation combines with the malts and coats your tongue with a sort of cereal milkshake of tasty foam. The 7% abv is well hidden.
Make a nice change from a Leffe Blonde. A great beer for autumn and winter.

Mons Abbey Blonde from Brasserie Belgh in Quebec Canada. Bought a 12 mix pack for 21,99$ (pretty expensive)
Look: foggy golden color with a finger of white head. Looks really carbonated. After a moment the head fade away.
Smell: Citrus, orange peel.
Taste: Orange, apple and some banana. The hop is really present.
Feel: Pretty refreshing even if it's a 7% ABV, you don't really taste the alcohol and it goes down really easily. No alcohol burn at all. The dirty finish.
So overall would I recommend? Yes its ok, it's not a great beer but its a good beer. And for the price my expectation was high. Would I bought it again? Sure if it's on special but I won't for the price is paid..

Pours with a real pop, the cork in mine exploded when I took off the seal. The body is a transparent yellow with a fair bit of head that tends to dissipate over a few minutes. The scent is highly floral, sweet, and spicy with some alcohol. The taste follows with some faint citrus from the yeast, as well as a lot of breadiness and spiciness. The beer is quite smooth though the carbonation is incredibly rough. Okay, I'll stick with other Belgian beers, though.

Have to say I'm Disappointed. Beer is Too boozy overall, and not nearly sour/tart enough. There is Too much carbonation, yet the head lasts nano seconds followed by minimal lacing. Meh.
I know this beer is a blonde-attempt, so maybe not the place to discuss but man oh man -- I really wish we could nail a trad Belgian lambic sour in canada so I could get it unpasteurized at a local pub.

Appearance - This beer pours a lightly foggy golden color with 2 fingers of sparkling head, It fades leaving a thick film over the top, carbonation seems to be fairly lively but I feel like this style should retain more head than this. overall it looks like a fairly good craft.
Aroma - Apple and pear hit my nose immediately and quite strong. then I get some coriander, light banana and some floral hops. some sweet caramel follows along with some fresh baked bread from the yeast.
Taste - At first theres a mix of flavors, Banana, apple. pear and corriander, then some clove and floral hops bitter it Then the apple returns with the fresh bread reminding me of apple pie.
Feel - Medium light body with creamy yet tingly carbonation, The middle is bitter but the finish is sweet and bready makeing it fairly smooth for the style.
Overall - This is my first offering from Brasserie Belgh Brasse and its a fairly good offering. I've tasted better belgian blondes but the aroma was so enticing and the feel so good for a 5.50$ 750ml it was worth every penny. Try it if you find it!
