Bottle: Poured a light clear brown color dunkelweizen with a large light brown foamy head with good retention and some good lacing as well. Aroma of banana bread with light caramel malt notes is quite nice. Taste is a great mix between some lightly sweet malt notes with light caramel malt and some excellent good banana bread notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Great example of the style with good attenuation and super nice ester.

Poured into a Pokal/Footed Pilsner glass.

A: Opaque, med/dark brown with red highlights, aggressive pour gives a frothy, microbubble light brown/tan head, at least 2 fingers thick. Quickly dies off to a fine lace...

S: Sweet, toasted malts, slightly hoppy, some nut aromas.

T: Quite light in flavours, slight sweet malt, grains, a bit banana, bit of a funny tart/metallic taste, finishing with a small bitterness, overall quite thin.

M: Super carbonation on the tongue... very fizzy, which is more distracting than refreshing.... very thin body, slightly watery, just not very balanced. Slightly dry.

O: Was excited by this one, as I do enjoy a good Dunkel and you don't see many Canadian attempts at the Dunkelweizen variety , but sadly this one is a far cry from a Weihenstephaner. Thin, watery, overly carbonated, and on top of that just really lacking flavour.... started off well with the appearance, but then went downhill. Not really worth trying except to fill in your list.
