This is the best place to buy home brew stuff in ST Louis. The quality and freshness is good. They have everything you need to get started and then keep going to intermediate brewing.
Good selection of everything from yeast to hops to kegging equipment. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
However, compared with other home brew places I have visited around the country, I think the prices are just a little high.
Given the fact that they are the only decent place in the ST Louis region, it's worth it.

Got my first homebrew kit here. Even though I was told it was near end of year inventory, and they were "really low" on stock, they still had everything I needed. They helped me quickly and gave me a card to call if I had any questions. The kit they sold me was pretty complete, I haven't had to buy but a couple of small pieces to make improvements since I bought it. The beer kit they sold me came out quite good, even though they were out of one of the hops varieties and one of the specialty grains, and had to adjust the recipe to match their current stocks. Overall I was quite pleased and plan to buy more stuff from them in the future.

Nice little home brew shop out in West County. One thing that stands out at this place is the helpful customer service. Always friendly and helpful when I go in there.

I usually buy my homebrew supplies online because of the better selection, but this place is nice to go to if you're in a pinch. Prices are reasonable on most of the equipment and ingredients. However, I was a little bit surprised at the high prices on some of their beer kits. I got 2 gift certificates to use there and they only let me use one per visit? No big deal, but with the price of the beer kit, I had to use some of my own money. Same beer kit was found at Friar Tuck's for about $15 less. (Brewer's Best IPA kit).

Overall the guys there (owner is Dan or Dave, can't remember - the guy with the pony tail) are very friendly and seem very willing to offer you advice as well.

The original shop was small and seemd to be priced a little high, and the selection was not so good. The new owner(s?) and larger location in essentially the same plaze have made a huge difference. Prices are much more competitive, and the selection of hops, yeasts, and malts are very good. they also have a very good supply of other brewing hardware and seem pretty knowledgeable if you ask questions. They also host learn to brew seminars which are great for beginners or folks wanting a taste of what homebrewing is all about.

This place in Lamp and Lantern Village is pretty far from the City, where I live, but it's established itself as the go-to retailer for homebrewing in the area. I've been twice now and have been greeted at the door, helped with everything I need, and given suggestions and ideas. The selection is very good and the place seems relatively new and clean. The prices were just a bit higher than what I expected based on my small amount of past homebrewing experience. Otherwise, great place and highly recommended to any homebrewers in the St. Louis region.

I visited this store recently for the first time. It's a bit out of my way, but I had a gift certificate for the store. They had everything I needed to make a few batches of beer. The person at the store at the time was very helpful. He was like a personal shopper for me. I had my ingredients needed written down, and he walked to the shelves and got everything for me. Then he took my steeping grains and milled them for me. If this place were closer to me, I'd frequent the store often. As it is, it's a bit of a drive for me, but I will make a point to drop in again when I am in that area.

I am still loyal to the Home Brewery in Ozark but this place is good. It was a little smaller than I had thought it would be but they pack a lot in. There is a huge selection of tools and gadgets. Almost everything is out where you can get to it. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The gentleman that was working that day was helping several people that were in the store at the same time and didn't even blink. It was like he was having several discussions at once and it did not phase him one bit. I would say the best service I have had in a homebrew store. He was even giving out tips. The store is clean and has a great selection of ingredients. I did have a little bit of a hard time finding at first but it was worth it this place is a treasure. The prices were very reasonable and they seem to want to help you budget.

With the number of local shops few and far between it is great to have a high quality shop lke this one.

First the staff is great. Tons of knowledge and very helpful. They are interested in what you are brewing and can offer great tips to help. A beginner should make this the place to start.

Ingredients are fresh and high quality. Even with the hop shortage they have plenty and better yet have the knowledge to make substitutions. Yeat is always top notch

Plenty of books, tools and equipment to keep you browsing and upgrading.

Prices are in line. Some high, some low, but average out to be fine even compared to the online shops when you figure in shipping.

You cannot go wrong with a trip to this store; and they usually have a sample oft heir own homebrew to try while you shop.
