330ml can from Beer Merchants online shop (£4.15):
Oily black & opaque with a thin, wavy head that's foamy with some bubbles on top & a dark tan colour with pretty good retention for the style. Strong dark malts & chocolate with a vanilla sweetness; rich with sugary notes & dark fruits including raisin & dates then oaky notes to close. The darker fruits & vanilla are a lot stronger with the taste, lots of chocolate, a subtle earthy coffee bitterness with hints of caramel as well. It's well balanced & quite smooth with a full body & a nice, creamy feel that's quite warming at the end - nice but a tiny bit strong & too boozy right at the end stops it being a classic.

Had in a 1 litre growler due to nationwide lockdown (Ireland).
Top: formed an inch of tan, creamy head, slow retention, practically no lacing.
Colour: cola like black, as it should. It had oily qualities while pouring, a typical sign of a good imperial.
Smell: red grapes, forest fruits with caramel and roasted malts.
Taste: medium+, maybe full body, silky smooth mouthfeel, lots of forest fruits, roasted malts with a dry finish. Low carbonation (well, it’s a growler, duh), I wonder how it is from a bottle or can. You can feel it’s a heavy treat, yet it’s not boozy at all. Excellent.
Summary: such a surprise, I will definitely look for this. A great one, it has all the goods I was looking for. Got is as a present, so cannot tell the price/value ratio.

look: tan coloured head, retained for quite a while for a beer of its strength but eventually turns to a thin layer of bubbles, no real lacing to report, beer is the darkest of browns to black in colour.
smell: aw man, smells great, lots of roasted toasty smokey flavour, lot of plum and fig, some sweetness there, a real nice alcohol smell, relaxing and not overwhelming, whiskey and cognac, oaky, vanilla, maybe even some banana, raisin, a touch floral, lot of coffee, i’m excited.
taste: it’s yummy, those smokey malt flavours are there at first, but it’s the sweetness that really takes centre stage, this is a fruit sweetness, lot of fig and raisin and banana, honey, espresso, there’s a spice to it, some clove, it’s herbal and floral, the finish and aftertaste is where the roasted smokey flavours really shine, definitely a noticeable alcohol character, nicely bitter on the finish, it’s good alright.
feel: medium to full bodied, light to medium carbonation, maybe just a tad thin in parts, really sticky and dense, creamy, a tonne of warming of the back of the throat which is to be expected.
overall: a very solid oatmeal stout here, good going white hag.

An imperial oatmeal with no superiority of mouthfeel. Very licorice. OK stout, gulpable stuff. No flaw as regular stout, decent if compared to dry irish stout.
