Stopped in here after a family funeral, and this place was dead too. The whole place felt like Uncle John's rec room, just a weird vibe overall. Service was good, beers were horrendous. One of the pours on the flight was the dregs from the keg, they replaced the keg, and never even offered me a new pour. Not a great expereince and will likely never be back (even if I lived across the sstreet)

A great local place. Definitely worth going for a stamp on the CT brewery passport. It's got a friendly small town feel, with a wide selection of beers. I will be back.

All I have to say is I got off from work today and after college I went to the brewery only to find it not open yet. I decided to sit on the bench on the side of the door. Within 10 minutes of me doing that an employee walked over to the door to go into work and she asked me why I was here so early (2+ hours). I explained my situation to her and she told me that she'll fill my growler for me!
The beer (that I don't remember the name of (because I haven't ever been there before and I didn't write the name down when she mentioned the options a few hours ago) is an excellent tasting beverage that leaves this brewery in high honors in my books!

Small tasting room but rarely overcrowded, and I just recently learned about the back room for social events. Good selection of beers on tap, usually at least 9 of the 13 are running. Good prices too. $5 pints, $9 quart growlers, $12 half gallon growlers for regular strength beers. A flight of 4 is just $6. They write the beer numbers on the paddle in chalk, you can just order by number if you like. Merchandise (hats, shirts) available, Shaker pint glasses, beer tokens. Various clubs you can join. Occasionally they have a yoga event right before they open and you get a pint for attending. Small bottles of Barefoot wine are available for those who don't like beer. Service can be slow whenthere is a line, but there are usually two people behind the bar... one to take orders and one to fill them.

Powder Hollow Brewery is a very new addition to the growing numbers of commercial brewers in the Enfield, CT area. The bar area is an unpretentious wood plank industrial room, very reminiscent of the quintessential "Ye Olde New England Tavern". The massive chalk board displays the what looks like will be a changing roster of beers on tap. 13 were posted when I went, ranging from every color and palate you could imagine. Now this at first troubled me as the old adage, "jack of all trades, master of none," came into mind .This was put to rest over the next few hours of our sampling. I'm not going to say I liked every beer brewed here, on the contrary, I personally only found about 3 beers that I absolutely enjoyed thoroughly. But what I liked is that my favorite beer was not my friends' favorites. We each walked out raving about which beers we liked the most. There is a beer here for every palate, every season, every occasion. I'm excited to return and even more excited to for the future brews to come.

13 beers on tap. I feel like maybe he should focus on 5 and master them. The Oatmeal Stout on Nitro is really good, the rest lack something.

Small free-standing brick building that may have been an armory or something similar. Short straight bar across the back wall opposite the entrance seats about 8 with 6 or 8 tables about the room. A dozen be ers on tap, get the feeling they're still working the kinks out as they've only been open a short while.
