Stopped in here on a business trip to Staten Island, hoping to take home some local brews. They had a decent selection of imports: some good Belgians included. However, their selection of local beers left something to be desired. Did not find any Victory beers, or Dogfish Head as I might have expected. They had a few Brooklyn Brewing Co Beers, and some stuff from Ommengang, but that's about it. Lots of dusty bottles, with some stuff 4 months out of date. Guy behind the counter didn't seem to know much about the beer.

Best selection of Craft beer on Staten Island. Actually its a place to seek out, as they are as likely as any to have what you are looking for. A rotating selection of up to 6 growler choices. Staff is knowledgable and friendly. If you like good beer, you must come

Best beer shop on the island. Great Selection and decent prices, but the staff is what will make you want to come back. These guys seriously know their beer and are more than willing to have a good beer conversation with you. Location is awkward for most but all in all worth the drive.

Bring extra $, you will want to spend it!

Outstanding selection, I was able to score many hard to find gems like Sucaba, KBS, and Founders Backstage Series #6: Doom. Service is second to none. The staff is super knowledgeable and is up on all the important releases. If you're looking for craft beer on Staten Island, Holiday must be your first stop!

Holiday is easily the best place to pick up craft brews on the Island. The selection is great and, outside of a few high-end, hard to find brews reasonably priced. For a few of the more obscure brews out there Holiday has prices that are quite a bit higher than shops further up the Hudson or just over the bridge in Jersey, but standard year-rounds and seasonals from breweries like Founders, Great Divide and Allagash (among plenty of others) are pretty much par for the course.

The rotating selection of taps for growlers is great and often features impressive or hard to find brews. In particular the shop routinely scores great stuff from Allagash that isn't always readily available such as the Bourbon Black and Old HLT.

The service is impeccable. The staff knows its stuff and, if they know you well enough, are always ready to suggest something new if you're feeling a bit lost (Out of the Founders KBS? Why not try the Hoppin' Frog Barrel Aged BORIS?).

The only bad thing about Holiday is that it's kind of out of the way, buried all the way on the south shore of Staten Island.

While visiting family for the holidays, my husband and I were searching for a good craft beer source on Staten Island. They had a huge selection of beers and ciders. Seasonal beers had a separate section. Breweries from across the US and the world were represented. There were two employees who were both very knowledgeable. They listened to our preferences and helped us find beers we had not tried before. All of our choices ended up being very enjoyable.

We came away with: Dogfish Head Namaste, Dogfish Head Immort Ale, Aventinus Weizen Eisbock, Warsteiner Dunkel, Rodenbach Classic, River Horse Oatmeal Milk Stout, and Angry Orchard Ginger Apple Cider.

Additionally they sell growlers, which I've never seen in a package store. When I was there a few days after Christmas, the selection was: Ridgeway Reindeer Droppings, Ridgeway Picked Santa, Rogue John John Hazelnut, Weyerbacher Double Simcoe, Sixpoint Mad Scientist #7, and Troegs Mad Elf. Prices ranged from $12-18, plus a $6 deposit-- about the same price as brewpubs in my hometown.

EDIT: I noticed some reviews from a few years ago mentioned they did not take credit cards. As of December 2011, they did accept credit cards, so that's another plus.

Upon entry you know you're in for something good when greeted with neons from Brooklyn, Sierra, Firestone, and Southern Tier.

A gem in the craft wasteland that is Staten Island. Greeted with craft upon entry, the beer is organized somewhat by region/country. One rack containing Stone, Oskar Blues, and Alesmith, and another with assorted big bottles from Blue Point, Great Divide, Mikkeller, and more.

A very knowledgeable staff can make suggestions or describe most beers there. They'll order beers upon request and are generally just all around friendly.

Growler Station usually has 6 beers on at a time. Their goal is typically to pour beers that aren't packaged, with a few exceptions made for Life & Limb, Tenfidy, Double Jack and maybe a few others. Other offerings have included Blue Point No Apologies, Wurzburger Oktoberfest, and beers from Wachusett and Greenport Harbor.

Excellent place for craft beer, a destination, even.
