Canned 2/21/23

Pours *gasp* clear. Oh dear, is this really an IPA? Smells like my butt after a 10-hour shift in a coal mine. Just playin'. Even kunty people klown sometimes. It does, however, taste like my butt after a 10-hour shift in a coal mine. I had a whore tongue-clean my bum after said 10-hour shift once and you know what she told me? She says to me, "White boy, yo booty taste like Unreliable Narrator from 3s Brewing". I never knew whether it was a compliment or not. Until today. Turns out it was a rave review! Hurray for me, my booty, this beer and sassy black whores with distinguished palettes!

On tap at Pour Taproom in Buffalo, NY.

This one pours a moderately hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This one smells like mango, peach, grapefruit, pine, white pepper, and marijuana.

Threes' IPAs are a lot like Hill Farmstead IPAs, which tend to be some of my favorite IPAS out there. There's a really nice bone dry bitterness here, with some tea, and pine needle-like bitterness. There's also peach tea, grapefruit, and some sticky mango.

This is light bodied, clean, and crisp, with a very nice drinkability.

Threes continues to be of the most underrated breweries in NYC, and New York state itself.

Look: Pours a hazy, slightly translucent shade of orange yellow with a one and a half finger, eggshell white head. Moderate lacing.

Aroma: Mango, sugar cookies. Spicy clementine rind and orange pith. Slightly waxy.

Taste: Dry, creamy flavors of orange sorbet and mangoes. Mild banana and pineapple. Waxy, grapefruit peel and bitter spruce. Notes of . . . cherries ? It's way in the background.

Feel: Low carbonation. Medium-heavy body. Dry/sweet. Alcohol profile is slightly apparent, but not distracting.

Overall: In a world full of generic, uninspired American IPAs that get churned out by the hundreds, this stands out amongst the rest.

A: Opaque, grayish-gold. Large and mushrooming white head creates a stormy contrast. Excellent retention yielding some chunky lacing.

S: Upstate backyard patio: citronella candles, thundershower soaked cedar chairs, geranium pots. Musty green matcha, diluted and earthy lychee building in sweetness as it warms.

M: Med bodied, flighty effervescence, good drinkability--smooth and soft.

T: Minimal sweetness like a weird mango ice pop. Pear and watermelon with earth overtones. Some creamsicle notes before biting into the stick for that grainy, wood (pine?) flavor. Molasses and crusty red fife bread. Not too bitter, not too sweet; pungent mossy, green, dank nectar.

Update already, 2/4/22. From a Can....

Slightly hazed out Straw golden coloration,**thick white creamy cap** pure white fluffy foam cap is creamy with a bunch of long lacing.

Husky and musty earth hop aroma pops out mostly, a mix of tangy citrus and grainy pineapple finishes it off. * bit o fruity

A golden grains filled first sip quickly turns to a smooth hop flow that has mild fruit flavors of muted pineapple and mandarin orange. Golden malted grains are a major player, crisp and smooth the whole way. A slightly bitter pine hop effect brings this close to an American IPA standard but with it's mild haze and light golden color it's really more like a hybrid.

This one runs right in the middle of the road style wise with excellent grainy, earthy textures, subtle fruits and a fun mouthfeel, well worth enjoying at least once.** malty balance to the pine, flat citrus and candy corn hop flavor is relatively remarkable.

A: The beer is rather hazy and a little pale yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high frothy white head that left a thick layer of bubbles covering the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of mango and lychee fruit are present in the nose.
T: The taste is somewhat dank and has flavors of mango and lychee fruit along with hints of black tea leaves. A light amount of bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The taste of this IPA has an interesting combination of dankness and tropical fruit flavors.
