Single finger head with excellent retention on a clear dark amber body. Lots of lacing. Aroma is a nice sweet caramel malt with brown sugar and maple syrup notes. Flavor is more caramel malt with molasses and dark fruit hints. A little earthy as well. Medium to thick body and moderate carbonation. Overall a very drinkable bock. More mellow this year than previous batches.

A - A clear, dark amber-brown body, topped by one finger of off-white head. The foam settles slowly and leaves minimal lace.
S - Aromas of dark, sweet malt with lots of toffee and a hint of caramel. Some light, fruity malt in the background with toasted notes.
T - Thick, rich malt up front with lots of toffee and some light roasted malt notes. Thick caramel in the middle with nutty malt character. Finishes with fruity dark cherry notes and more light roast, balanced by light hop and malt bitterness.
M - Thick body, moderate carbonation, and a sweet finish with just a little bit of alcoholic warmth.
D - The malt richness of this beer is excellent and makes for a really nice example of the style. It is nice and clean and I can't find anything to complain about other than the fact that it is so thick and heavy that I would have a hard time drinking more than one.
