20.3oz (weird size) bottle into 20oz stemless snifter.

As it pours it starts out as a clear dark brown, but once the bottle is empty, it appears as an opaque black. A one finger tan frothy head slowly settles to a thin rim along the glass.

Very light burnt malt aromas with a touch of honey in the background.

Plenty of roasty malts in the flavor. A tiny bit of hops comes in toward the end. The honey is very light and adds a touch of a sweet glaze on the tongue. Full bodied. The burnt yet creamy malts linger for a moment after each sip.

A pretty good porter without too much honey, which adds a nice bit of complexity. Great for the winter season. Recommended.

600ml bottle into a tulip. no apparent bottling date

Pours a pitch black with an inch thick beige head. Smell is big on roasted malts. Taste is creamy with good cocoa undertones. not too complex but the flavor is very nice. medium bodied with medium carbonation. goes down very easily because of how creamy it is.

overall a very solid porter that youll enjoy if you like the style. cant complain here.

Sampled from roomates bomber into a snifter.

Solid black porter with a thin ring of foam that lasts and lasts. A tad thinner than most porters. Big smells of dark malts with a roasted coffee edge. No real honey in the aroma. Creamy and warming smell. Taste is subdued, but active. Starts actually quite watery, moves to earthen toasted malts, finishes on a slightly sweet coffee note. Creamy taste and feel. Pretty straightforward English porter here, just damn solid roasty, dirty malts. Almost no hops, maybe just a touch in the finish. A tad metallic, too. Quite good, actually. Mouthfeel, though still kind of thin, is smooth and pulls delicately from the snifter. Subtle carbonation makes it a real nice sipper.

Great smells, smooth and classic tastes and a great feel. A honey brewed porter without overdoing it on honey. Thumbs up for this great Danish-English porter. Recommended, without a doubt.

A - dark but some red around the edges. Bubbly off-whirling head that falls quick and leave a little lace.

S - roasted malts, vanilla, coffee, wine and other scents on the mix. Quite complex.

T - Roasted malts, chocolate, fruit and a little smoke, but just a touch.

M - not thin but no real coating, tiny mild tingle on tip of tongue.

D - easily drinkable all night.

A: Pours almost pitch black with a frothy, two finger pale mocha colored head. Retention good and it leaves some light lace down the side of the glass.

S: Sweet, dark malts with distinct coffee notes, dark cherries, vanilla, and some light honey. There's a burnt characteristic lurking in the background that could be construed as almost metallic, but within context it works...could be toned down a bit, but doesn't detract too much.

T: The aforementioned burnt aroma is manifested better as roasted dark malts but really rides the line between strong and overpowering. Dark chocolate and coffee join in while the honey comes in, along with some vanilla, near the finish to sweeten things up.

M: Moderate to full bodied with medium carbonation, smooth and chewy but the bubbles hold it up well.

D: The burnt flavor really takes a toll after a while.

1 pint, 4.2 ounce bottle poured into a Caracole glass.

Pours a nice dark black...decent head on top (about 1/2 finger's worth). Looks like a good porter.

Aroma gives off coffee, chocolate, smoke, black pepper, caramel, cinnamon, honey, caramelized sugar, and sweet black chocolate.

Tastes of chocolate, honey, pepper, ripe fruit, candy sugar, vanilla, light hops, roasted malts, light smoke, and clove.

Overall, this is a solid porter...one of the best I have tasted. It has some carbonation in the mouthfeel, which lifts the flavors across the palate and keeps them going throughout the drink. It's quite delicious, chalky, chocolaty, and smokey. A great porter...and brewed with honey, which lends a subtle sweet tone on the palate but isn't overwhelming.

Poured into a wheat style glass. Pours very dark brown almost black with just the faintest of light shining through with a small tan that goes quickly into a thin film with a little lacing. An earthy aroma with hints of dark fruit. A burnt chocolate taste with not much of the bitterness that should come with it. I really don't detect honey but maybe that cuts the bitterness. Silky smooth to drink and goes down very easy. A really good brew.

Man, this is seriously good beer. Hit that nail on the HEAD. And POUND IT DOWN. Very nice portrayl of contrasts: big, bold, huge, yet soft and gentle. Earthy and rarefied. Cocoa but not so bitter. Poured with a great tan head and loads of lace. Color is an opaque dark brown almost black. Aroma is as above; ditto flav. Sinful. make me whine with pleasure. gawd.
